Online Zoom Lessons for Medicine Interview practice or UCAT/BMAT prep

I’m Rukshaan and I plan to study medicine at UCL from September. If anyone wants any sort of help (online 1 hour lessons through zoom) with Biology, Chemistry and Maths for KS3, GCSE or A level, feel free to contact me. I’m happy to have a talk to get to know me, formalities and to know what to have ready for our first lesson, but only if the first proper lesson is agreed and prepared for!

I will go through content or topics in a manner which suits the child's learning ability and engagement, since it is a one-to-one lesson, and then build upon that with questions.

I learnt to cater the lessons to engage with a more visual approach and taking small steps to encourage pupils to come out of their shell, and be more excited when they make progress. I teach using my iPad, going through notes, handwriting points and sharing my screen so the online lesson is much more interactive and more constructive.

    About Me

I’m Rukshaan and am a first year UCL medic so I also have a great scientific interest. This is mainly balanced out with my hobby in music.

I love teaching and have so far taught at Whitefriars School in Harrow and had experience with one on one or small group sessions with children struggling with maths. On the other end of the spectrum, I’ve taught 11 plus children with 11plusexams situated in Harrow. I really do enjoy making my students as comfortable as possible so the lessons are usually quite relaxed and I try to adapt my lessons around their interests and points of focus. If they are struggling particularly and falling behind, I can help them set small goals to bring them back up to speed. If on the other hand, they are very adept and just require a little fine-tuning, I am also able to set goals to push them above and beyond. All-in-all, having had experience with both groups of students, I am more than capable of catering to their needs.

I attained 14 A*s at GCSE, with 9’s for the relevant subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths), 4 A’s at AS level (which includes Biology, Chemistry and Maths), and am predicted 3 A*s in those three subjects.

Having done 4 medical interviews successfully, I am also offering medical interview practice hour-long lessons via zoom also for 20 pounds.

I learnt to cater the lessons to engage with a more visual approach and taking small steps to encourage pupils to come out of their shell, and be more excited when they make progress. I teach using my iPad, going through notes, handwriting points and sharing my screen so the online lesson is much more interactive and more constructive. Feel free to reach out :) If you have any questions or queries, I’m happy to clear things up.

    Thanks!

Mock interview practice for medical school applications
So, you have made it past the first round of your application to medical school? Congratulations! You are almost there. Now, all that's left is an interview standing between you and your future as a doctor. Prepping for an interview can be extremely daunting. What questions will they ask? How should I answer them? How do I balance this with studying for my A levels? This class aims to tackle this and help get you some practice in order to ease some stress off your shoulders. We will work together on verbal and non-verbal communication. This can involve answering the common questions (why medicine?) and the slightly tougher ones (why should we choose you over another candidate?) Then we will go through everything that you have done well and areas that can be improved, so you can confidently secure your offer to med school. :)

Do you want to study medicine in Italy? Support for Medicine entrance Exam in Italy
I have worked for 5 years now with high school kids interested in studying medicine in Italy (both in italian or English) I believe that the key for a successful preparation of a challenging test such as the medicine entrance exam is exercise, in fact I believe that is crucial to start the preparation with an adequate advance to gain confidence with the standard exercises we can find in the exam. My lessons are based on mock exams: we go through them together seeing what are the student's gaps and then reviewing the theory of those gaps. I also believe that my method I successful since I can relate to the fear and anxiety a student preparing such a stressful exam is living, having prepared it not so long ago. Every lesson we go through a subject so we can focus on the hardest topics in every subject.
