About Me

A PhD-qualified immunologist and biomedical scientist, I have extensive life science academic, research, and teaching experience. I have advanced immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and translational biomedical research training and international academic experience at several research institutes.
I specialize in simplifying and organizing complicated scientific concepts for students. I tailor my lessons to each student's level, learning pace, and academic goals, emphasizing critical thinking, scientific reasoning, and strong foundations above memorization.
I have helped high school, undergraduate, postgraduate, medical, health sciences, and research students with projects, theses, and publications. While teaching, I conduct scientific research, which informs my courses.
I want students to excel academically and develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong interest in science. I welcome students from various academic backgrounds and nationalities to a friendly, professional, and motivating learning environment.

Education

I earned my PhD in Immunology from Dalian Medical University in China, where my dissertation focused on the immunomodulatory and therapeutic effect of Saccharomyces boulardii in rheumatoid arthritis. My research focused on the gut-joint axis, immune cell regulation, particularly Th17 and ILC3 populations, gut microbiota modification, intestinal barrier integrity, and important signaling pathways such as PI3K/AKT. I received my Master of Medicine (MMed) in Immunology from Jilin University in China, where my thesis examined the impact of AIRE deficiency on macrophage responses to Candida albicans utilizing AIRE knockout animal models. I also have a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Microbiology from Hazara University in Pakistan, which provides a solid foundation in microbiology, immunology, and biomedical sciences.

Experience / Qualifications

I am an immunologist with a strong academic background and extensive research expertise in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. I earned my Master of Medicine in Immunology from Jilin University in China, where my research focused on AIRE deficiency and macrophage immune responses utilizing genetically engineered mice models. My doctoral research focused on the gut-joint axis, immune cell regulation (Th17, ILC3), gut microbiota modulation, intestinal barrier integrity, and intracellular signaling pathways such as PI3K/AKT. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhanjiang Central People's Hospital. My research combines experimental immunology, microbiology, and translational medicine, including peer-reviewed publications and multidisciplinary collaboration.
