I am specialised in film history and theory, which I've been studying for years and know extensively. You could be someone curious about film who wants to get a grasp of the old calssics; or you could be a cinephile who wants to deepen her or his knowledge of the field and think critically about cinema. Some topics will include New Korean Cinema, Contemporary French Cinema, Experimental Film, French New Wave, Film and Philosophy, Hollywood Cinema, Postmodern Cinema, Documentary Theory, Queer Cinema, Feminist Cinema, Black and Postcolonial Cinema, and Ecological cinema.
I also teach contemporary art history, specifically from the 1960s onwards, with a focus on performance, installation and video art, as well as their broader cultural background and relationship to the other arts. Some of the artists that will be studied are Cindy Sherman, Steve McQueen, Chantal Akerman, Shirin Neshat, Marina Abramovic, and Ana Mendieta.

I am empathetic, patient and understanding of my students' needs. I believe in an open approach, where students are able to express themselves freely and adjust classes based on their interests, needs and satisfaction.
Depending on the student, my film and art classes will also involve possible homework and readings, to be able to discuss the issues critically during class.
