Hello! I am an English saxophonist, guitarist, pianist and composer / music theorist, currently based in Maastricht, NL. I've been playing saxophone, guitar and piano for 15 years and after building a life around music and creative expression, it's my passion to share that with anyone eager to learn; at any level.
I spent 2019-2022 touring South East Asia and East Africa playing saxophone in a jazz ensemble, and teaching at schools and privately. Music has been a passport for me to travel the world and connect with such a variety of people and cultures. I believe music can bring so much value to our lives, it can excite us and move us, give us a sense of purpose and identity and ultimately enrich us in ways we would never otherwise grow.
Whether you are just starting out on your journey as a musician and you need help with the very basics of your instrument, or you have existing experience but are looking for help / structure to take you to the next level - I am so looking forward to working with you in an engaging environment to help you turn a hobby into a serious passion. I also teach music theory if you are an existing musician but have not taken the first steps into theory yet, or you are preparing for upcoming exams all the way up to Conservatorium level.
I aim to tailor our teaching environment to fit the individual needs, level and personality of each student. Want to learn how to play saxophone, guitar or piano? Let's meet up! Hello! I am an English saxophonist, guitarist, pianist and composer / music theorist, currently based in Maastricht, NL. I've been playing saxophone, guitar and piano for 15 years and after building a life around music and creative expression, it's my passion to share that with anyone eager to learn; at any level. Are you a musician already, but you haven’t opened the door to music theory and don’t know where to start? Perhaps you are preparing for upcoming exams, or you simply want to spark your curiosity further with the mechanics of music? At any level, I’m here to teach music theory for jazz and contemporary music.
I want to show my students the connection between music on a theoretical level and their instruments. And how understanding the building blocks of music can lead to new creative avenues through which to express themselves. It can be a struggle to know where to get started both technically and theoretically; understanding your instrument and what you are playing can help to facilitate real musical growth.
As a conservatory student, having followed advanced jazz music theory. I can help at any level to further your knowledge and understanding of music. Theory is such a powerful tool for composition, songwriting and improvisation, let’s learn together in an environment that puts you and your instrument first.
I offer classes from beginner musicians to conservatory / music school entrance exams and everything in between & beyond.

in the course of conversations, I have often heard this sentence which puts me off. I am Thomas, a pianist student at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Liège where I am finishing my course. I started music far from Theory and solfège classes, by a method of my own, on which I worked quite a bit, in order to offer it to my students (I come from France where I had been teaching for 6 years alongside my studies).

I proceed as follows: we first work on the ability to listen, and then we deduce the technical and/or theoretical concepts. music comes first and foremost through the spoken word!

I'm a passionate Portuguese classical guitarist currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree at the Conservatorium Maastricht in the Netherlands, studying under the esteemed guidance of Carlo Marchione. With two years of teaching experience, I've had the pleasure of instructing students ranging from 6 to 50 years old, both in-person and online. Alongside guitar instruction, I've also provided music theory tutoring.
