In de dagelijkse wereld, en zeker in de techniek, kom je vaak de stelling van Pythagoras tegen. Zoals bijvoorbeeld in de bouw waar timmerlui gebruik maken van de 3, 4, 5 regel om deuren en kozijnen loodrecht te kunnen stellen.

Hoe gaat dat in zijn werk? De timmerman bereid drie balken voor met een lengte van 3, 4 en 5 meter. Maar dat mag bijvoorbeeld ook 1.5, 2 en 2.5 meter zijn (de maten worden met zodanig aangepast dat de onderlinge verhoudingen hetzelfde zijn in dit geval 1.5 = 3/2 / 2 = 4/2 en 2.5=5/2). Hoe stelt de timmerman het kozijn zodat dit loodrecht staat?

Hij maakt een rechthoekige driehoek met 1.5 meter vertikaal, 2 meter horizontaal en 2.5 meter schuin (of met de 3, 4, en 5 meter balken).

Wat zie je, de 1.5 meter verticaal staat precies 90 graden overeind, en dat wil je graag met de deuren en kozijnen in het huis.

Ik ben Onno uit Leiden, hier geboren in 1958 en ook woonachtig. Ik heb HTS-Electronica gestudeerd waartijdens de studie een hoop exacte vakken zoals wiskunde, natuurkunde, electrotechniek, mechanica worden gegeven. Mijn middelbare school opleiding is ook exact geweest en ik heb 40 jaar ervaring in het bedrijfsleven met toepassing van deze vakken. Ik vind het heel erg leuk om jongeren te op weg te helpen in deze vakken en door mijn jarenlange praktijkervaring ben ik goed in staat om theoretische vraagstukken om te zetten in praktische alledaagse voorbeelden met als doel hetgeen geleerd moet worden eenvoudiger verteerbaar te maken.

Ik geef bijles in verschillende vakken op middelbaar niveau, in o.a. wiskunde, natuurkunde, biologie, Nederlands, Engels en economie.

Ik geef al jaren bijles in verschillende vakken aan leerlingen van alle leeftijden.

Zelf studeer ik op het moment linguistics aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Op het vwo volgde ik een natuur&techniek-profiel, waardoor ik ook alles afweet van wiskunde en natuurkunde zoals die vakken op middelbaar niveau onderwezen worden.

Sciences can be challenging and abstract, but they have endless applications and help us to have a better understanding of the world we live in. As an Aerospace Engineer student, I understand how difficult they can be, and my personal goal is to make them enjoyable and understandable by using real-life examples that make students motivated about them. I am Lorenzo, an Italian guy studying International Studies in The Hague.
I graduated last year in an Italian high school in Castelfranco Veneto, my hometown.
The school I went to was a “Liceo Scientifico”, characterized for giving an accurate and complete preparation in scientific subjects such as Maths and Physics as well as more humanistic disciplines, for example Latin, Italian literature, Art and Philosophy.
Two years ago I lived for a year in Chile through an exchange program that gave me the chance to study for a year in South America. Hoi!
Ik ben Antoine, een MSc afgestudeerd in Applied Mathematics aan de TU Delft.

Tijdens al mijn studies heb ik middelbare scholieren en bachelorstudenten bijles gegeven in wiskunde, Frans en Italiaans.

Nu ik me in dit nieuwe land heb gevestigd, wil ik graag weer beginnen met bijles geven. Dus als je het moeilijk hebt met wiskunde (of in een van die talen) op welk niveau dan ook, zal ik je graag alle hulp geven die je nodig hebt!

Ik heb in het verleden zowel face-to-face als via de webcam bijles gegeven. Ik kan beide methodes goed gebruiken, hoewel ik denk dat het veel gemakkelijker is om te helpen tijdens een live sessie, daarom vind ik het prima om in de zone Den Haag/Rotterdam te verhuizen.

I grew up in-between Mexico and the Netherlands and completed a bilingual education in English and Spanish. I passed my GCSE examinations after Grade 10 and attained a final score of 42/45 points in the IB in 2021. After graduating from a United World College, I move to The Hague to study at Leiden University, where I obtained a BA in International Law (summa cum laude).

I started tutoring at 14, but only began doing it regularly four years later at the IB level. My professional experience has also included college-level student assistantships. My approach to learning is influenced by my own diverse background. I have studied under different systems in the Mexico, the Netherlands and France, which allowed me to experiment with various learning methods and discover what works and what doesn't. When it comes to the IB, I especially understand how to structure written assignments (including IAs, TOK essay and the EE) and have several tips to achieve the highest results.

Chemie zit in alles om ons heen. Van kleins af aan was ik geïnteresseerd in wetenschap en vooral scheikunde. Toen zag ik hoe mijn vader alcohol haalde en distilleerde vanuit suikerriet. Daarna ben ik gefascineerd door de wereld van de reageerbuizen, kolven en bekerglazen. Nadat ik mijn studie scheikunde had afgerond, heb ik 13 jaar in de farmaceutische industrie in Cuba gewerkt waar ik mijn master heb behaald in chemische analyse en organische synthese. In die tijd gaf ik bijlessen aan leerlingen van de middelbare school die zich voorbereidden op het eindexamen scheikunde en wiskunde. Ook begeleidde ik havoleerlingen voor hun scheikunde scriptie.

TU Delft is Europe's most prestigious university for aerospace studies, preparing some of the best engineers. However the selection procedure is tough and demanding, and only those prepared have a chance to succeed.
