I am a Clarinet, Saxophone and Vocal coach from Zimbabwe with over a decade of teaching and performance experience from leading a successful solo career and working as a music teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz singing from Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) Lausanne where I am currently studying a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy. I have also studied music in Dublin Ireland, where I acquired a Higher Certificate in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre's Berklee Track program whi h is facilitated by Berklee College of Music in Boston. I was the 2024 laureat of the Foundation Casino Barrier Award for talent and creativity and a 2018 winner of the Zimbabwean National Arts Council's National Arts Merit Award (NAMA). I am excited to find eager students at all levels who are keen to learn and challenge themselves in making and learning music. My classes are dynamic, engaging and well prepared.

Hello, I am currently a Master's student at the HKB in Bern and I offer clarinet lessons for all ages and all levels at my home or at the student's home. I can also teach music theory classes. The clarinet is a fascinating instrument. Its woody timbre, its tessitura close to the voice offers a wide range of musical directions. Whether you want to play classical, jazz, song or world music, we will progress together to connect the song and the instrument. To develop the breath, to consolidate its supports, to feel the rhythm and to shine the melodies, that is the objective! I adapt my method according to each student but here are the central points of my educational work: - Warm up: stretching and breathing - Sound work: beak, held notes, harmonics * - Technique: ranges, transpositions * - Repertoire: Piece being learned, reading *, improvisation. * confirmed students SINGING I attach particular importance to the link between song and instrument. Singing the songs and even the scales improves the musicality, the phrasing, the accuracy to the instrument. MEMORY As much as possible, I ask to memorize the pieces. Knowing how to sing a song before playing it is for me the best way to integrate it.

I graduated with a Master in Jazz performance and composition and a Master in Jazz instrumental pedagogy at the HEMU in Lausanne. I have gained teaching experience since 2013 through private lessons as well as lessons in two music schools. I am a musician in different groups (Traditional Jazz, Jazz-fusion, Modern Jazz (my sextet)) in France and Switzerland. I also trained in classical orchestration for two years. My lessons are aimed at beginners as well as more advanced, of all ages. We will be able to approach the technical notions of the instrument in order to better master it but also improvisation, musical theory, composition, rhythm. I try to base my pedagogy on the musical tastes of the students while making them discover, by listening or playing, other musical currents. I play clarinet, bass clarinet and saxophone and I can accompany you on the piano depending on the pieces. Please note, however, that I cannot lend you an instrument. The course can take place at my home or in my office. I can travel to your home but a travel allowance will be required. I can also teach in English and I'm used to it.

In the classes we will address the different elements that make up music in different styles, knowing the particular language of each one. To do this, we will work on the different tools that we have with each instrument at the level at which each one is. We all know music but many times they make us believe that no, that it is necessary to know how to read and write. That is the graphic part of the language that we will learn little by little, music is a compendium of many other things. Some that we already know and others to know. We will study the use of the keys and the positions of the clarinet, or the sax, the best way to position ourselves whether we play standing or sitting, the most efficient way to use the air, the diaphragm, the muscles. We will learn to form a good embouchure and we will develop a study method adapted to each one, according to their tastes, possibilities and interests. I work with boys and girls from different parts of the world as well as with adults and the elderly. In my experience I learned that, truly, the greatest limitation that we find ourselves is the very feeling of not being able, of believing that we cannot. The support of a dedicated teacher is essential to get out of those places where we accidentally enter and that sometimes limit us. We all feel that sometime. It is time for us to remedy it. I've been teaching saxophone and flute for about 30 years. I studied in Paris and New York with some of the greatest saxophonists, including the great master Barry Harris. Over time, I've developed a pleasant and effective method. I also teach the Alexander Technique, a very effective tool for learning to play with minimal effort. I teach classes for all levels and styles, although I specialize in teaching jazz improvisation.
