I am a Clarinet, Saxophone and Vocal coach from Zimbabwe with over a decade of teaching and performance experience from leading a successful solo career and working as a music teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz singing from Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) Lausanne where I am currently studying a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy. I have also studied music in Dublin Ireland, where I acquired a Higher Certificate in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre's Berklee Track program which is facilitated by Berklee College of Music in Boston. I was the 2024 laureat of the Foundation Casino Barrier Award for talent and creativity and a 2018 winner of the Zimbabwean National Arts Council's National Arts Merit Award (NAMA). I'm an award-winning Canadian classical pianist and experienced teacher offering piano lessons for all levels, beginner to advanced. I have performed with orchestra and has a soloist in various festivals across Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland, in addition to being a prize winner in numerous competitions, as well as the recipient of numerous grants and awards.

Having over 15 years of experience as a teacher (including my own private studio and a teaching assistant at the University of Montreal), I am very dedicated to my students of each person.

My doctoral researches pertains to the neuropsychology of learning music (specifically, exploring the most efficient ways to learn a skill), thus I am thoroughly equipped to provide all sorts of tips and tricks from my research and personal experiences :)

Actuellement professeure de hautbois à l'Ecole de musique d'Epalinges et en master de pédagogie à la Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, issue et diplômée des conservatoires parisiens je vous propose de (re)découvrir le merveilleux instrument qu'est le hautbois !
Mes années d'expérience en cours privés, en école de musique, en tant que professeure dans différents stages d'orchestre de jeunes, et coach des instrumentistes à vent à l'Orchestre de Chambre des Etudiants de Lausanne mais aussi professeure remplaçante au Conservatoire de Lausanne et à l'Ecole de Musique de Lausanne me permettent aujourd'hui de proposer des cours de hautbois axés en priorité sur la pratique de l'instrument, la découverte du répertoire et le plaisir de faire de la musique ! En parallèle nous aborderons différentes thématiques et pratiques visant à consolider vos connaissances et votre aisance avec l'instrument : théorie de la musique, solfège, respiration, fabrication des anches etc...

La technique et la maîtrise de l'instrument:
Je propose un travail axé sur la technique, en mettant l'accent sur la maîtrise des rudiments, des patterns, et du vocabulaire spécifique à la batterie. L'objectif est que l'élève se sente rapidement à l'aise dans l'improvisation et l'interprétation de morceaux.

L'énergie et le groove:
Une partie du cours est dédiée à la lecture et à l'application de patterns. Nous les travaillons en boucle pour maintenir une énergie constante dans le groove. Cette étape inclut également des improvisations à deux batteries, permettant de développer l’écoute et la créativité.

L’interprétation et l’adaptation au style de l’élève:
Enfin, nous travaillons sur l’apprentissage de morceaux. L’élève peut apporter ses propres morceaux ou suivre mes suggestions, en fonction de ses envies et de son style musical. Si l’élève souhaite explorer des rythmes plus électroniques, nous pouvons intégrer une boîte à rythmes ou des outils de production sur ordinateur (rap, pop, musique électronique) pour enrichir le cours.

The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues.
