Serious, attentive and dynamic, I have been accompanying and supporting several dozen secondary and higher education students for more than 8 years in their academic success and in passing the Polytech and Medicine entrance exams. . My goal is to make my students independent in their study and to provide them with a methodology that will be useful to them throughout their schooling. Typically a course is done in two stages: 1) A first passage on the theory in order to identify the students' difficulties and the material to study for future exercises. Then deconstruct the concepts that pose problems into several concepts that are accessible to the student. Once I have explained a concept, I do not hesitate to ask the student to explain again in their own words what they have understood, in order to make the learning active. 2) We move on to the exercises to do, typically I let the student think about the exercise for 2-3 minutes before helping them solve it. Again, as we move from one stage to the next, I always ask the question "why?" so that the student can explain to me what he understood. So I check that he or she has understood the concepts used to move forward and learning then happens naturally.

My teaching method includes a lot of metaphors and real life examples in order to give the student some intuition of the material, which allows to put the theory in its context and therefore to understand it more easily. Hello, my name is Nicolas, I am 35 years old and the public to which I am the most accustomed is that of preparatory classes for the grandes écoles, for mathematics lessons in general. However, I also have experience in preparing students from the second to the third year of the license because of the large number of hours of lessons that I have given as well as the many students followed. My teaching method consists of clarifying the course first, making sure that each definition and theorem is well understood. We then discuss the basic exercises and techniques, and finally, if the course followed is demanding, tackle more complicated exercises or even competition subjects. Having conducted international-level experimental and theoretical scientific research for many years (PhD University of Cambridge, National Physical Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, KUL, and UCL) I offer tailored and adaptive tutoring in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.
