Classical cello lessons and basic music theory for all levels

Having studied the horn at the Brussels Conservatory, I offer music theory / musical training courses for all ages from 7 years old, for levels ranging from beginner to first year of conservatory. I am now a student in psychology at UGent, and I intensively continue music (horn and cello) in parallel.

Learn playfully music, bass guitar, double bass at your size and at your pace. We follow your learning pace and your musical taste. Jaco Pastorius, James Jamerson, Marcus Miller, Flea, Sting, ... Walking jazz lines, Motown grooves, funk lines, improvisation ...

Are you a total beginner who wants to learn how to play the bass from scratch? Are you an experienced bass player who wants to take their playing to the next level? In both cases, I can help! I'm a bass student at Ghent Conservatory with experience in a broad range of styles. You can come to me with specific things you want to work on, or I can analyze your playing and point out where you can improve. Learn how to apply music theory, improve your technique, speed and sound, get tips on how to play grooves and solos and leave as a better player than when you came in.

Tailor-made cello lessons for all ages and levels! Currently via webcam I studied at the conservatories of Antwerp and Ghent and obtained my master's degree as a performing musician and my diploma in specific teacher training. In addition to experience as a performing musician, I am also active as a teacher of solfège and cello. I have experience as a teacher with children and adults. Would you like to learn to play the cello? Or would you like to improve your technique? Be sure to send me a message and we will make a schedule based on your wishes, agenda and interests! Being able to read notes is not a must, we can also tackle this during the lessons. Solfège and music theory lessons are also possible!

In the singing lessons we will work with your own voice! We investigate where your points of improvement lie and what you are already good at. Are you a beginner? Then we focus on a basic formation of singing technique in combination with singing songs that you like to sing. Are you an experienced singer before? Then we go a little deeper into vocal technique by looking at where the difficulties lie for your voice with challenging songs. We get started with the songs you like to sing. If you prefer solfège or a combination of the two, that is certainly possible too! I myself have been working for 4 years in a private music school where I give singing and piano lessons. I have a bachelor's degree in musical education and study jazz singing at the conservatory of Leuven. Hope to see you soon!

Ik heb mijn hele leven cello geoefend en gespeeld en ik kan je verzekeren dat het een van de mooiste dingen is die je kunt doen. Zelfs als je er moeite mee hebt! Ik kan lesgeven aan zowel beginners of amateurs die er beter in willen worden, als aan studenten van een hoger niveau die hun vak willen perfectioneren. Ook als je iemand bent die erover denkt om met dit instrument te beginnen, twijfel dan niet! Ik baseer mij op de lessen die ik gedurende al mijn studiejaren van mijn leraren heb gekregen, waarbij ik altijd bijzonder geïnteresseerd ben geweest in het belang van de figuur van de leraar voor de gezonde ontwikkeling van de leerlingen. Ik pas me aan aan de technische en muzikale behoeften van elke leerling, zelfs als we van 0 beginnen, zonder muzikale voorkennis. I have 6 years of experience teaching both cello and music theory, both as separate subjects and as a combined learning program. In this time I have worked with many different students with different skill levels and ages. My lessons adapt to the students goals, skills, previous knowledge and learning styles. On our first lesson we will determine what the starting point is, what we ant to achieve in the short and long term, and we will make a plan to get there that best suits you.

Hello! My name is Pablo López and I am a professional cellist. In my 20+ years playing the cello I have been lucky to build an international career as a solo and orchestral musician in places like Bremen (Germany), Sweden (Göteborg), and Belgium (Gent). I have 4+ years worth of experience teaching online/in person, as well as a C1 Cambridge certificate of English. I also have a B1 level of Nederlands. My philosophy of teaching is to teach my students in a comprehensive way how to use their body 100% efficiently. I will teach them how to play in the most natural way, getting rid of tensions and fears in the process. Hi! I'm a violinist currently finishing a Master's in Music at Royal Conservatory in Ghent. I started playing violin at the age of 6, and studying with numerous professors made me realize how important an individualized pedagogical approach is for a good development. My aim is to motivate students to be creative and enjoy playing music, helping them express their own ideas. A relaxed and natural technique is always one of my focusses, to avoid future injuries and to find an ease while playing that will allow you to explore your musicality and feel free.

For beginners: During our guitar lesson you can bring your own songs that you want to work on or together we will see what the best songs are for you and what you can learn the most from. This ranges from the basic chords that make up most pop / rock songs to playing along with the melody or accompanying yourself while singing. So you can play what you always dreamed of in no time! For advanced users: Together we look at what you want to work on in terms of rhythm, soloing or improvisation. Which styles you are familiar with or which you would like to learn to play. These lessons are ideal for you if you want to broaden your knowledge of the guitar or if it feels like you've reached a plateau you can't get past.

My name is Miriam, I'm in my final year of Master studies at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent. I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 8 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher.

I view teaching vocals and songwriting as a therapeutic, holistic process, where my students learn techniques and practical tools that help them hone their craft, but also work through psychological blockages that make them into greater artists.

Hello, my name is Silvia! I am an Italian student of Violin, currently attending the Postgraduate Musical Performance Practice at KASK & Conservatorium in Gent. I already have experience in teaching music and violin to children, teenagers and young adults. In those occasions, I discovered how much transmitting my love for music to other people - children, teenagers, adults, any age! - is one of my highest goals within my musical career. I am aware that each student deserves a personal teaching approach, shaped on his/her own nature and attitude. I will help students strengthen and consolidate their technical skills on the instrument, but we will also have a lot of fun in playing music! My education: - Postgraduate Musical Performance Practice course, at KASK & Conservatorium, HoGent. Ongoing (2022-2023). - Master Degree of Music in Performing Arts - Violin, issued by KASK & Conservatorium, HoGent. 2020-2022. - Diploma in Violin (10-year course, old academic system) at the Conservatory of Music “G.P. da Palestrina” in Cagliari, Italy. 2009-2020. The lessons will be held in English or in Italian.

Learning to practice an instrument well is very important. I really value this very much in my lessons. From the moment one can practice well, it progresses much faster, so that you also prefer to play. I started quite late, so I had to catch up a lot in a short time. In the beginning it progressed quickly, but as the pieces got more difficult I needed new practice techniques. I practiced so badly and that is very demotivating over time. I eventually learned to practice well by asking a lot of different people for help and now I'm making faster and faster progress. I would really like to share this info, so I think I have something to offer for young and old, even if I haven't been doing it that long.

I give guitar lessons Jazz / Funk / Blues / Rock / Fingerstyle etc. in Ghent and surroundings. Music theory lessons are also possible. Both for beginners and for people who have been playing the guitar for years but want to work on their technique or improvisation skills. Learn to play the songs / genres that you want. My lessons are adjusted to the individual needs of each student, we decide together what we want! Being able to read notes is certainly not a condition. Skilled and motivated teacher!
