I am a professional violinist with 30 years of performing experience. Having played as an orchestra musician and concertmaster for over 15 years, I have coached a number of students and helped them prepare for exams and auditions. I also enjoy teaching basics to beginners of all ages. In recent years, I have been a mentor and violin teacher for the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra academy and given master classes in South America and in Germany. I am a regular guest member of the exam jury at the Lucerne School of Music. During 2018 I studied music physiology for two semesters at the Zurich Hochschule ZHdK, which gave me a very valuable insight into some often neglected physiological and psychological aspects regarding violin playing.

I offer horn lessons for beginners to advanced. I've been playing horn for over 12 years and have a lot of experience over that time. I have been studying at the University of Music in Hanover and at the Art University Graz for 4 years. I can teach in Berlin or via webcam.

My first priority is making sure your student understands that I'm not extra, boring schooling. With my fifteen years of experience in mentoring and my commitment to understanding students' needs, we will accomplish this within our first meeting. Often times, students need either support with structure or being intellectually challenged, but I offer both these outcomes. I look at previous assignments and assessments, and I use this data to understand what skills to focus on, accordingly with the standards of your country's education system (I'm familiar with the American and German standards). I also take into account, however, what exists outside of the data, including interests and needs not specified on paper. I tailor my lessons then to be worth everyone's time. I foster skills in research, organization, and writing so that students will continue benefiting long after our sessions. I utilize tools, such as games, and projects to take learning off the page. My courses are aimed at primary and secondary school students, but I also take on working adults and college and graduate-level students as I support effective literacy at every level.

I work with school children, young people and adults helping to improve grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and speaking skills through a variety of engaging materials. Hallo, I am a Chinese American concert pianist and I have been residing in Europe (Paris, Berlin, etc) for decades. I have over 30 years of teaching experiences dating all the way back to my student times at the Juilliard School, New York. My teaching philosophy is to help my students to express their individualism through music. In order to achieve this goal the students are encouraged to master the basics of the art of piano playing, such as adequate technique, memory, understanding of basic music theory and historic backgrounds of the compositions, and last but not least, the ability to sightread music scores efficiently, which, unfortunately, has been ignored by numerously teachers to my knowledge. As a person I am friendly, punctual, open-minded and patient. I always see my students as friends and like to discuss with them about music and beyond, and through this way I can understand my students better personally so as to help them more efficiently in their musical ambitions. My multicultural background and teaching experiences in different continents/countries gave me unique insight to understand students from different parts of the world. I teach piano in English, German, and Chinese languages.
