Literary Foundations for Primary School English: “Enhancing Writing and Comprehension Skills”

This engaging course is offered both online and in-person, providing a dynamic learning environment that fosters creativity, communication, and critical thinking. Our curriculum is tailored to meet the diverse needs of primary school students, ensuring that each child develops a strong foundation in English language skills.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
-Enhance Vocabulary: Expand their vocabulary through interactive games, storytelling, and reading exercises.
Improve Reading Comprehension: Develop the ability to understand and analyze texts, fostering a love for reading.
-Strengthen Writing Skills: Learn the basics of sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation to express their thoughts clearly in writing.

Hello, my name is Jack and I am originally from West Yorkshire, England. Outside of an academic setting, I gain a strong sense of fulfilment in teaching something to someone. I enjoy seeing them grow, and chartering the progress they make. Having recently graduated with a BA in English Literature from University in Bristol, my subject expertise will match the content of my classes. The best teachers I have had in the past are the ones that inspire, or instil a deeper appreciation for learning. In my case, it was the love of literature that was sparked. I aim to do the same.
My academic journey has fuelled my passion for working with children, as I am deeply committed to supporting their development and making a meaningful impact in their lives. I believe that education should be both enlightening and enjoyable. Whilst teaching a syllabus, I will strive to create lessons that inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning.

My mum is also a fully qualified, professional tutor who has over 30 years experience. Much of the knowledge she has, I have inherited, and aim to instil within my lessons.

I will instruct non-native speakers in English, focusing on language acquisition and communication skills. I aim to improve grammar, and monitor grammatical errors. I will also inform why these errors are commonly made.

As an English Literature tutor, I will help students improve their understanding and skills in literary analysis, reading comprehension, and essay writing. I am most familiar with the AQA teaching syllabus. Ultimately, I want to provide personalised support to help students:
-Understand classic and contemporary literary works

-Prepare for GCSE, A-Level, and other academic exams
-Improve essay writing techniques
