Hi,

Let me tell you about myself!

In 2018 I attained a BSc (Hons) of Mathematics from University College Dublin, with higher second class honours.
In 2019 I was awarded a Scholarship to study 'PGCE with Mathematics' in King's College London.
I have taught Maths in two London secondary schools. My classes in both schools were keenly focused towards GCSE level.

Furthermore, for the past six years I have been providing private tutoring lessons to a wide variety of students. With these I have learned how to perfectly tailor my method of teaching to get the most out of whatever student is in front of me.

I will promise you that your child's grades will tremendously improve...and they may even begin to enjoy maths!

Warm Regards,
Mark

About Me
“Mark is a brilliant tutor. He has managed to cover the entire syllabus with my son and go above and beyond the requirements to ensure he is well prepared. He is extremely inspiring and wonderful to work with.
(Jade - parent of A-level student)

“We have found Mark, and the tuition a really useful and productive addition and appreciate the work Mark had put into my son’s lessons for Math. It has been a great experience for us all, and we would happily offer our recommendation to another parent.”
(Fiona – parent of year 8 student)

"Mark has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He has covered an enormous amount of work in a relatively short time and given our son some wonderful study skills in Maths. His enthusiasm for lessons has been enjoyed immensely. It is his ability to bring the subject to life for a young boy and inspire him that is most appreciated."
(Joanne – parent of year 7 student)

“My son’s improvements are really noticeable. Your lessons are the happiest time for him during the week and Maths is now his favourite subject. Under your teaching he has progressed a lot and grasped many techniques so thank you very much.”
(Kevin – parent of year 9 student)

“Mark really is an exceptionally good maths tutor. My daughter has made unexpected and unusual progress since Mark started teaching her, as noted by her teachers at school. She’s now moved up 3 grade predictions and she actually enjoys maths. He makes a great effort to ensure that my daughter understands the concepts, patiently varying his explanations until she understands.''
(Colm – parent of GCSE student)

"Thank you much for having worked with my daughter over the course of the academic year in preparation for her GCSE exams. We feel confident that with your help she is as prepared as she can be and in addition you have certainly helped with her confidence. We feel very lucky to have had you as support for her. Thank you for everything and we wish you much success with your teaching career. We shall certainly be in touch in the future if either of our girls need Maths tuition of any kind."

Can learning English be fun, insightful, productive and effective at the same time? I believe so!

Whatever your background or profession, deciding to learn a foreign language is a great way to add another dimension to your life and make your mind work in a new way. You become a (slightly) different person, since along with a new language, one learns to look at the world in a slightly different way. This is why my approach to teaching English is not only aimed at laying or strengthening the foundational knowledge - grammar, speaking, writing and listening skills, but also at introducing students to the culture of the English-speaking population. We will find out what English speakers find funny, what drives them to tears, what makes them feel proud and what they get embarrassed about.

Open to students of all levels, my course usually is taught online, using a variety of visual aids and a wide range of material, from textbooks to YouTube videos. In teaching advanced learners, I often refer to pieces of literature such as novels and poems, since they easily spark discussions, which in turn improves the students' grasp and feel of the language. In doing so, I take students beyond ordinary textbooks and grammar books, since they are no more than guides to learning, not absolute authorities, and because to me language is a living, constantly evolving matter, which you must submerge yourself into in order to understand.

In addition to my unorthodox approach, what sets me apart is a collection of unique, language-related experiences, which translate into a good ability to understand nuances of the English language. A native Russian speaker, I have lived in the UK for over 5 years, went to a Scottish boarding school and have even completed a university degree in English. Thanks to my linguistic and cultural competency, I will make sure that you are never lost in translation! Are you interested? Then contact me today!

Setswana is a rich, rhythmic language spoken in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Belonging to the Bantu family, it closely resembles other languages in the region.
I have found learning Setswana through several terrific teachers, thorough textbooks and daily life enriching.

Growing up in Botswana, speaking this beautiful and intricate language, or at least making an effort to do so, can transform the way you live in Botswana.
I have taught semester-long regular beginners Setswana lessons to children aged 7-12 and adults, with strong emphasis on understanding grammar by breaking it down into “formulas” for how to form tenses and sentences. I teach these and vocabulary through a mix of traditional explanatory lectures, practice exercises and creative games, accompanied by study techniques I have found very useful for learning foreign languages. I have also worked as a trained English tutor, and study linguistics at university, both of which have shaped me to better understand and teach language.

Each class will consist of grammar formulas (eg: basic conjugation in the present tense: linking pronoun [for the human noun class group, for example: ke=I, o=you, o=him/her, re=we, le=you plural, ba=they] + “tla” [as in “will”] + verb), some vocabulary words, spoken or written exercises or games to go through together and longer practice exercises to build independent confidence.

My teaching materials I use I developed whilst living in Botswana, and have already been used with my aforementioned classes. I hope they can help you too !

My name is Bako and I am a very hard-working individual. As a student who struggled for years to get good grades, I know the struggle and pain. However, I was willing to change my life around and so can you. I am so passionate in helping others because I am certain that my way of teaching will definitely help students who are determined to aim for the high grades. I can't stress enough how most of the things taught to students nowadays really do not help them at all and is the reason why they aren't seeing any progress. However, that's why I am here to change that and for certain guarantee those high grades which all you students want. My question to you; How determined are you to change?

As a year 12 student who's just finished GCSE, I can vouch and argue that I know all the tips and tricks to get grade 9s in History and Religious Education. My main techniques to help students are Revision Methods, Exam Structure and the Information needed for the exam. I am very confident in teaching History and RE as I was able to get grade 9s in all my mocks consistently.
