My name is Álvaro, I am Spanish, from Galicia. I have a degree in primary education and I have experience in giving Spanish lessons to children up to 12 years old. I also have experience as a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language.

My language skills are: Native (Spanish and Galician). Intermediate (English and Portuguese). References available upon request.

I give very dynamic Spanish lessons, for all levels and all ages in Brussels capital. I adapt to each student and his needs and interests. The course can be individual or in group. I also go to the students' home, or to any other place where they want to take the course. I give classes also by webcam if necessary.

The acquisition of language skills is inseparable from cultural skills. I emphasize not only the different learning experiences that our daily lives offer us but also we want learners to talk about their culture. It’s interculturality that I prefer.

Group language teaching allows for the exchange and sharing of cultures, thus promoting communication based on each person's experience but also on their daily life in a new environment.

The objective is to learn with pleasure, using the language with creativity and inventiveness, without being afraid of our “mistakes”.

Educational material is no longer limited to classic learning books and grammar and exercise books. We use the play as educational material from which lessons and exercises are developed. With images, music, newspaper articles, films, poems...

I did tutoring for three years. After a long break in order to finish my studies as a specialized educator, I decided to resume.

I can help primary school students in all subjects as well as secondary school students (but only for literary/language subjects).

I studied at a translation school in English and Spanish as well as at a special education school. I lived in England for a year and my father is Chilean, so I speak Spanish perfectly.

I also have the First Certificate of English diploma.
