Nature Study : Painting Bontanicals with Watercolor

This watercolor botanicals class focuses on observing and painting plants with precision and expression. Students learn foundational watercolor techniques including wet on wet, layering, and controlled brushwork to capture delicate textures and natural color variation. The course covers composition planning, color mixing, and understanding light to create depth and realism in leaves, flowers, and stems. Through guided studies and finished pieces, participants build confidence in translating natural forms into refined, vibrant watercolor paintings.

This colored pencil workshop guides students from concept to finished drawing. We explore ideation and visual research, develop strong compositions through sketch mapping, and apply color theory to create depth and harmony with layered pencil techniques. Students practice rendering realistic objects, plants, animals, and human figures with attention to light, texture, and fine detail.
