Hello! I'm Isobel, a TEFL certified English teacher from London. I have extensive experience in private tutoring in English literature, history, and English as a second language.

My methods are based on the communicative approach, which aims to foster confidence and English fluency in students. Above all, I want English to be something that my students like to learn. To this end, I design my classes to be fun, including authentic materials in line with my students' interests, whether it be art, politics, sports or cooking.

In my experience, each student comes with specific needs and that is why I strive to create a tailored program. We will work on the four language skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, through activities that are relevant to your needs and goals.

Do you need to use English to write emails at work? Then we will practice writing and rewriting emails. Do you want to speak more in English during meetings? Next, we will focus on "dramatizing" these scenarios. Are you about to take an academic course in which you will have to write essays in English? No problem! We will focus on reading and writing in an academic context. Or perhaps your in-laws are native English speakers? Excellent! Then we'll work on the general conversation.

To this end, I currently offer four types of English classes depending on the needs of my students: general English, business English, exam preparation and academic English.

In this course you will learn how to maximise you IELTS score by learning about question types, and the structure of the exam.

You will be given different techniques to deal with the test as well as different ways to keep off the possible mistakes reducing your score.

You will be provided with the most recent materials such as the latest trends in question types in all four skills.

Your productive skills(speaking and writing) will come under scrutiny and useful feedback will be given to troubleshoot your weak points.

Born in London to French and American parents, I grew up between the three countries and now live in Barcelona. In addition to teaching, I also run my own business as a football agent.

After completing a Political Science degree with a focus in International Relations and Spanish at UCLA, I finished, with merit, a postgraduate business degree (MBA) at the University of Liverpool. In addition, I am a certified high school mathematics teacher in the United States with experience teaching subjects such as Algebra I, Algebra II, and test preparation. I taught high school math for multiple years in East LA with the program Teach for America that places top university graduates in under served neighbourhoods. As I lived in the UK for many years and have taught many British students, I am also intimately familiar with the UK curriculum. Furthermore, I have tutored students studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum for many years. Lastly, I have a TEFL credential, which has allowed me to teach English to dozens of students.
