Hello everyone, my name is Elia and I’m from Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet! I started my career as a teacher in 2024 after getting a TESOL/TEFL certificate to teach English. A few months after I started teaching online through a platform, a teacher asked me if I could take over her Italian students because she could no longer follow them. That’s how I began teaching my native language as well, and I discovered that I really enjoy it. I teach teenagers, adults, and older learners. Some of them started from scratch, while others were already at a B2/C1 level... so I learned to adapt to each of their needs. I try to keep my lessons varied by including grammar, audio, video, and lots of conversation. Of course, I also make an effort to follow my students' preferences by preparing tailored lessons for them. I’ve never taught children before, but I’d love to give it a try. I provide all the necessary materials myself – I have digital books for all levels, including books for kids and teenagers. I also have a Zoom subscription that allows me to run high-quality lessons with no interruptions. In addition to Italian and English, I also speak a bit of French and Flemish, and I understand some Spanish. I hope I can help you on your language learning journey... see you in class!

Trusted teacher: Ciao! I'm Tanya :) I was born and raised in Venice. I am a professional teacher with 7 years of experience. I translated medical and legal articles, panels in the Venice Glass Museum and worked as an interpreter at the court of Venice. In the last years of my life I traveled the world, visited more than 80 countries and worked remotely. I have been working with Dutch people for three years, through my language school: Lingodrops. I graduated in languages, am certified in international law and am a language coach. Language coaching means that I not only teach you a language, but also how to learn new ones! I closely follow your entire learning process, to get the most out of your possibilities! This is because I like learning new languages! That's why, after years of studying, I became a polyglot (8 languages - Italian, English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Arabic, Hebrew, Dutch) and I devised a method myself to teach you the language you want to learn! Over the years, I have learned to shape my work according to the personal needs of each student and have developed a method that allows my students to learn the language in a fast and fun way. My hobby and greatest passion is learning other languages, so from my experience I can understand many of the difficulties associated with learning a foreign language. My lessons are based on a specific method that I have designed to facilitate and accelerate learning. My lessons are available in Italian, English, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Dutch and Arabic. GROUP CLASSES possible! Arrivederci!

Trusted teacher: Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past twelve years. I have taught privately and at language schools like La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During the first few lessons I will make sure you have the tools to pronounce and identify all the sounds of the Italian language. This step is essential! And it will make everything easier afterwards. When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling. When you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I will customize my materials to your interests, needs and desired pace. And because you are learning from a native Italian you will also learn about Italian culture and history. You will absorb a way of thinking, not just grammar rules. I speak a bunch of languages so I know a thing or two about how tedious language classes can be. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad book ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of those dialogues are carved in my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” When I teach Italian I try to avoid all the things that I hated as a language student. We will use real songs, real literature, do real conversation and storytelling and we will go on “talking walks” because when you are engaging all your senses it is easier to keep your mind relaxed and to remember new words. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre (equivalent to an American MA) and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote a thesis about translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden and I tried to ride a horse across America.

I've had different Spanish teachers but Tanya is by far the best for several reasons: - Tanya makes a personal plan together with me which fits perfectly with my learning goals. So no unnecessary grammar but only things whichs helps me with my reason why I approached her - She developed her own personal learning style which helps me making huge steps in a short time - Tanya shows she's well prepared and the work we do and the homework I get is always in extend of the things I want to learn - Besides that she's always happy and a nice person to chat with Quick sumarry: if you want to learn Spanish in a good/fast way with a teacher who is always happy, I would highly recommend Tanya :)

Valentina has been my Italian teacher since February. Since then, I have made great progress in learning Italian! She uses a very good method/book which also allows you to work online. But the best thing is the personal interaction with her, which really makes the difference: the explanation of grammatical stuff, the correct pronouncation and which words to use when and also some background information about Italy and the Italian people. A very pleasant and effective teacher! Alexander

We are very happy with Alessio. My daughter and I have been taking lessons for a month now and it is a time during the week that we both look forward to immensely. Alessio is patient and knowledgeable, knows how to present challenging material in a fun way and helps us gain confidence in expressing ourselves in Italian. For anyone looking for a good teacher, look no further, Alessio is your guy!
