As a graduate with a BA in Latin and Ancient Greek and a MA in Biblical Hebrew, I offer private Latin, Ancient Greek, and Biblical Hebrew classes both for students who seek private tutoring and for those who wish to learn these languages even more in-depth. My classes a personalised according to the student's need: understanding school material, preparing for exams, or advancing language skill. In all instances, there is emphasis both on grammar and reading literature appropriate for the student's level. Students who have no preliminary knowledge of these languages but would like to learn to be able to read the Roman Law in Latin, the works of the Greek philosophers like Plato and Aristotle in Greek or the Bible in Hebrew are also welcome.

Please note, this is biblical Hebrew (the language of most of the books of the Old Testament), not modern Hebrew (the living language)! I hold a DEA (Master's degree) in "Languages, History and Civilizations of the Ancient Worlds" with a distinction of VERY GOOD, and I continued my training with the summer courses of the University of Aix-Marseille (Hebrew I, II and III). I propose an introduction using J. Weingreen's manual, revised by J. Margain (CNRS), which allows progress through a series of short lessons followed by translation and composition exercises. Introductory Course in Modern Hebrew: I. Hebrew Course – Description by Level 🟢 Beginner Level (Alef – א) Objective: To acquire the basics of modern Hebrew, both spoken and written. Hebrew Alphabet The Hebrew alphabet has 22 letters, all consonants: א (Aleph) ב (bet) ג (Gimel) ד (Dalet) ה (He) ו (Vav) ז (Zayin) ח (Chet) ט (Tet) י (Yod) כ (Kaf) ל (Lamed) מ (Mem) נ (Nun) ס (Samekh) ע (Ayin) פ (Pe) צ (Tsade) ק (Qof) ר (Resh) ש (Shin) ת (Tav) Some letters have a different shape when they appear at the end of a word.
