Playing the piano affects the whole person positively and enriches in many ways. The memory is getting trained and it increases the ability to concentrate. Music is food for the soul.

Beginners get a well-prepared lesson in order to get to a good level of playing. The lessons are adjusted to you personally. Through my classical background, I provide basics as well as theory, reading, and writing of notes, ear training, rhythm, and harmony.

Whatever your age, playing the Violin and generally music affects your entire person positively and enriches you in so many ways. Your memory is being trained and it increases your ability to concentrate. The younger you start playing, the greater the impact on your ability to multitask, succeed, even to the extent improving your health and wellbeing over the long-term.

Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

Cheslava
Piano and Singing tutor with 5 years experience and professional education
From my childhood I have been studying music and art: sang in choir and solo, played piano, painted, studied music history and literature, solfeggio. Later in college I have also learned choir conducting, had ensemble and choir singing lessons, cultural studies. During last year in university I had pedagogy practice at university and at private art school (where I worked as a music tutor before the war - piano, voice). I truly enjoyed working with students. They all were different age (8 - 40+ years old) and level. But all were very interesting and work was pleasant. My education was very various: my core subjects were conducting, choir, voice, piano. So it allowed me to work with children, teens and adults with quite wide range of interests and needs: some students needed/wanted to learn particular composition(s), sometimes pop songs arrangements, some were interested in “introduction” to the music, some wanted to renew skills they gained in their childhood and continue their journey to the music world. In addition I prepared presentations (which contained information about cultural and historical background and musical and character/art analysis). So after graduation from choir conducting faculty (which allowed me to deepen my knowledge in many important compatible branches) I concentrated on studying classical singing and piano, expanded my cultural studies and analysis knowledge, practiced solfeggio and harmony.

The lessons can be conducted in English 🇬🇧, Spanish 🇪🇸 , or Italian 🇮🇹 , ensuring accessibility for all students. I prioritize fostering enthusiasm and motivation as primary tools for conveying technical and theoretical concepts, alongside a deep love for music. Lessons are open to students of all ages and skill levels. 🚀 The focus of the course revolves around the joy of playing music. Your favorite genres and pieces will take center stage, with a thorough exploration of their codes and secrets. Together, we'll delve into technical exercises and learn to play pièces of your choice or mine, enriching your repertoire and enhancing your playing style. 🤩 For example, we can reimagine pieces by applying advanced techniques such as the CAGED system, incorporating new chords, positions, and techniques like arpeggios and fingerstyle playing. This expands the instrument's capabilities and your playing skills, ensuring continuous progress and improvement. 👨🏻‍🏫 Upon request, the program also includes theoretical studies, which are presented in an accessible manner suitable for both beginners and experienced musicians. Exercises, pieces, and theoretical explanations are structured in a progressive order of difficulty.🔥 The theoretical program covers a range of topics, including guitar tuning, chord theory, scales and modes, finger picking techniques, strumming patterns, metronome practice, learning favorite songs, improvisation, harmony, melody, and rhythm theory.⚡️ Together, we'll embark on a musical journey tailored to your goals and aspirations, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching experience with the classical guitar.🔝☄️

Music lessons in Piano (up to Grade 8) or Singing (up to Grade 5)
Having had 15 years of piano lessons, one thing has been constant through the performances and exams I have taken - Enjoyment. This is a key aspect that the students enjoy playing the instrument and are motivated to keep on playing and learning new pieces or techniques. Piano has often in my life been my biggest hobby and an escape from other things going on, and this is something I hope to provide to anyone interested in learning this wonderful instrument. I am able to teach all abilities ranging from causal lessons up to Grade 8 standard for Piano. Having had 9 years of singing within Chapel, University and Scottish Choirs, I have been able to cover a wide range of repertoire and techniques on how to improve my singing style. During both school and university, Singing within choirs was my biggest extra-curricular, and I aim to teach lessons in a way that can encourage budding singers to grow in their confidence and ability. Singing is a social and enjoyable experience, and this is the key thing in lessons that students choose to learn songs and techniques they are keen to cover and feel engaged when improving their singing. I am able to teach all abilities ranging from causal lessons up to Grade 5 standard for Singing. I have both an ARSM Diploma and an ATCL Associate's Degree from ABRSM and Trinity College London, meaning I play up to Undergraduate standard. Combined with being a Graduate in Mathematics and Music, which has included opportunities to teach in my degree for Mathematics, means I have knowledge over how to ensure lessons remain engaging and students are kept motivated. I am a member of the University of Edinburgh's choir and NYCOS National Choir, while also having a Choral Scholarship at Church of the Sacred Heart and Old Saint Paul's Church. Involvement within these, along with past choirs such as the Fettes College Chapel Choir, has meant I am a strong singer and know how to get the best out of a singing lesson. Helping out with conducting across some of these choirs has given me experience of teaching Music, and alongside teaching Mathematics to primary schools, I can use these skills of being organised and having good communication to help make my lessons engaging.
