I am a Ph.D holder in Tabla and I am a disciple of Ustad Ilmas Husain Khan of Lucknow Tabla Gharana and I was tabla teacher in University of Visual and Performing Arts in Sri Lanka .

My technical approach is rooted in the rebound-based methods passed down through the Murray Spivack tradition. I was taught by drummers who themselves trained in this lineage—helping you develop relaxed control, endurance, and tone.

Music as a Language
I teach music the way we naturally learn language: by listening and speaking before reading and writing. You’ll learn to feel rhythm, internalise timing, and express yourself on the drums. Reading and writing music are absolutely taught—but always in the right context, as tools to deepen your fluency and independence.

The drums are an instrument that has become essential to many musical genres. It can be metamorphosed at will but does not produce melodies, its mission is to keep the tempo and to give power and / or groove to the orchestral ensemble. I will be there to teach you the basics, limb de-coordination and rhythmic ease and also help you find a personal approach to the instrument.

I offer drum lessons at home and in the studio within Paris.

A professional musician for 10 years, I have extensive experience on stage, in the studio, and teaching. (I have recorded over twenty albums and have toured extensively in France and internationally.)

In recent years I have focused on teaching drums, which is a passion of mine. For this reason, I decided to write my own method "the drum book", which has 3 volumes (about 300 pages), which I have continued to expand with the more than 60 students I have been lucky enough to have.

I could sum up my approach in three words: learn, have fun and work. The lessons are done in a good mood! The drums are a fun, rewarding and sometimes demanding instrument. I want to provide the richest possible teaching, based on my "drum book" method and the learning of pieces (chosen by the student if they wish).

Being self-taught allowed me to very quickly develop a curiosity for music in general, to play different instruments and to create several music groups, concerts, studio recordings, etc.

This drum course is for beginners of all ages, with or without prior musical experience.
The goal is clear: to lay solid foundations while having fun from the start.

The course is based on a constant balance between technique and musical performance. Technical exercises are always directly linked to specific pieces and grooves, in order to avoid a heavy or discouraging theoretical approach.

Particular attention is paid to the relationship between the body and the instrument:
good posture on the stool, relaxation, hand and finger position, coordination, balance and center of gravity.

These elements are essential for making effective progress, avoiding unnecessary tension, and developing a natural relationship with the drums.

Finally, I am primarily here for the student.
If the student has a clear idea of the direction in which they wish to go, I will be there to accompany them and help them achieve it.

I am not trying to impose a rigid teaching method: I adapt to the needs, pace and objectives of each individual.

What I do insist on, however, are the essential basics: good posture, the elimination of unnecessary tension in the body and a healthy way of playing.
