I grow up in this town, but now I live a bit far from here. I studied at the University of Barcelona and in Huddersfield (near Shefield, Halifax, Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool,...not very far from York: quite nice places and better people), and I've been teaching Catalan, Spanish, Phillsofy, History and English for a long time...since I was 16. I hold a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, USA, and relocated from London to Barcelona in 2023. Mathematics has always been a huge passion of mine and I have found it helps in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These skills are crucial in building confidence and nurturing creativity in students (I even use math to create music!). I enjoy teaching various math topics, such as algebra, geometry, ratio and proportion, probability, and trigonometry, among others. Piano lessons in Jazz, Classical, or Modern styles; depending on the student's interest, we can mix a bit of everything or delve deep into one style. Main focus applied to overcome the problem of piano: mastering two-handed rhythm. To achieve this, I teach left-hand grooves and foundations while working on improvisation, harmony, melodies, accompaniments, and everything there is to play with the right hand. I introduce piano techniques such as walking bass, tenths, stride, drop 2, and more. From my experience, rhythm, "Groove", and the connection with the music in the moment it is being played are the most challenging aspects to learn and integrate.
