Hello! If you can understand this message without having to translate then you are ready for my help! I am from California, and have been living here in Brussels since 2012. I am 44 years old. I speak West Coast (California) English. It's the English you hear in your favorite California movies. I love to help friends who already speak "European street English" while HAVING FUN! Did you know that 70% of learning a language is learned OUTSIDE of a classroom setting? So I propose we go to the park, we cook together, we go on a bike ride, we draw, we play. And of course we will talk a lot. When I hear an error I will correct you in a fun way, writing things for you, with FUN AND REAL examples, with drawings, ALWAYS STAYING 100% in English. That's correct, I will only speak English to you, because as you and I both know, you already speak English, and you have understood everything (or maybe 70%) of everything I just wrote. What you want is to improve or perfect your spoken English (we can work on writing, too). Immersion and fun, West Coast Style. And my university degree? Yes, I have two of them, in Languages and Literature, and I speak 4 fully fluent languages (working on number five currently), but for now I want you to learn English by HAVING FUN! I am a qualified English teacher from England. I obtained my bachelor's degree in linguistics at Lancaster University (UK) and will soon have my master's degree. I have been teaching English for over 3 years to students who wish to improve their English language skills or become bilingual. All my students are satisfied with my course and those who had entrance exams have passed successfully. There is nothing like having English lessons with a qualified English speaker ;-) I have done all my studies in English and in the United Kingdom, I consider English as being my first language among all the other ones I have learned. Being a "native" speaker for me is meaningless, the qualifications are the most important as well as the experience (you could have a "native" speaker who makes a lot of mistakes because this person is not qualified in teaching).

The price of the lessons is moderate compared to the effectiveness of my courses. I use a variety of methods and can easily adapt to the needs of the student. I offer courses at all levels (beginner, advanced to university level) as well as English courses for IELTS/TOEFL, A-LEVELS or correction of written works.

I have worked with children as well as teenagers and adults. My 3 years of experience as a teacher in England have helped me to develop the qualities necessary to motivate my students and teach them effectively.

I can deliver the lessons online anywhere in the world.

As a non-native English Proficiency Speaker (C2), I am fully familiar with the difficulties of learning English as a second language and as a student I am familiar with the hardships and learning progress.
I have been certified as a TESOL CERTF teacher and have had experience in giving lessons in a class of 15 students at summer language schools or 1to1 lessons!
My focus during the session is to establish the target language and focus on familiarising it to the students. The class duration is 60 minutes and involves targeting the students goals but including the student's needs.
I give out homework because it is my believe that 'Repetitio est mater studiorum'- repetition is the main key to making a progress in learning!
I understand that learning a non-native and unfamiliar language can be overwhelming thus I try to take the class sessions slowly, including the repetition of the main problem until it is understood, however, I do like to encourage my students to push themselves to a new challenge.

The classes are taught solely in English, since that is the target language!
