Hiya, nice to e-meet you!
I am a professional teacher, trumpeter and conductor who graduated from the Royal College of Music (2022) and The University of Edinburgh (2018), both with First class degrees.
In the past year, I have worked with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Czech Chamber Philharmonic, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic among others. I’ve also worked with Sir Thomas Allen, Sir Antonio Pappano, Maxim Vengerov, Martyn Brabbins, Jac van Steen, and Ryan Bancroft.
I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to study and learn from many fantastic teachers from around the globe. Sharing all these experiences and the different approaches brings me great joy and that’s why I love teaching people like yourself.

Ondřej is friendly, polite, and very professional. He runs to time and communicates efficiently with me via email or phone if necessary. He has a holistic approach to teaching, which I found very helpful. Because it was a school exam preparation, Ondřej was very confident in communicating with George’s school directly.
The whole approach to teaching was relaxed and comfortable. I can see George is progressing and Ondřej seems to explained things clearly to him.
Unfortunately, our lessons had to finish due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation in 2020 and also Ondřej’s relocation to a different city. However, George truly enjoyed his lessons and I’m pretty sure that it was something that gave him a real boost.

Ondrej is a very approachable and fun teacher who inspires, guides and directs through appropriate exercises and techniques to get the best out of your instrument. My whole understanding of even the basics was reshaped so that I understood why and this allowed me to come on in leaps and bounds! I was put at my ease as I learnt how to hold and blow correctly, it was so much easier!, and we worked on the pieces I really wanted to learn. Highly recommend!

For me being a returning learner, Ondrej has been a very patient, encouraging and positive tutor in every lesson we've had in the last two years. This has continued as our lessons have moved to online only.
Thanks to Ondrej's tuition I've grown greatly in both skill and confidence since picking up the instrument again, both playing with others in band settings and in personal practice. He is a very skilled tutor, with an obvious depth and understanding to his musical knowledge that he is able to explain and instruct in a very accessibe manner. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

When relocating to Edinburgh, my wife and I were looking for a professional and experienced piano teacher for our two sons to continue with their piano lessons. Ondrej fitted this perfectly. Very professional, enthusiastic and importantly fun with the lessons for our sons. Our sons progressed very well in both scale practice and playing practice. Trying to keep two pre-teen boys interested is no easy task however Ondrej was able to make the lessons both interesting and fun and it was a joy to be listening to the beautiful music being played by them during their lessons. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and were disappointed when we had to stop due to clashes with school curriculum. My wife and I would very much recommend Ondrej for any student / parents looking for a highly talented music teacher.

I started your lessons without any trumpet or music theory experience and felt intimidated by the difficulty of the instrument in the early sessions. However, providing technical tips such as lip position and breathing, as well as accompaniment with the piano really accelerated my ability to play and understand sheet music. I am very grateful for the development that one session a week could bring. I would recommend you to other aspiring trumpet players because you provide both a technical and musical knowledge of the trumpet. You also managed to tell when something wasn’t working for me and suggested personal tips that fitted my ability and playing style which helped a lot.
