Trusted teacher: Isaac is an award-winning clarinettist, teacher and arranger. He graduated with Distinction from the Royal College of Music as an HR Taylor Trust Scholar, studying Masters of Performance. In 2021, he graduated first class as a Bachelor of Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he won the college's Concerto Competition. He is originally from a small village in Northamptonshire. At a young age, Isaac has a wealth of experience in teaching across all levels of education. He has managed his private studio for half a decade, whilst currently holding the position of woodwind tutor at West London Free School, previously Loughton Music Academy Trust and World Heart Beat Music Academy. Alongside working with RCM & RWCMD Juniors departments, and RCM Sparks programmes as workshop support staff, Isaac has worked with the outreach departments of the London Mozart Players, Neville Holt Opera and Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He is also an ongoing self-employed tutor at BSharp Studios, Marie de Bry Arts Academy, Forte Lessons, Lycaeum Tutors, and London Music Tutors; he is also on the roster of the RCM Teaching Service. In 2022, his wind quintet, Ormonde Ensemble, won a place on the Wigmore Hall Chamber Tots Training and Development Scheme, a unique opportunity for musicians to develop their skills and experience as supporting musicians in early-year practice. Isaac approaches teaching with a young, fresh mindset with a heavy focus on a strong musical foundation, problem-solving, practice “hacking”, determination and, above all, enjoyment. He has been commended for his relatability and calm, patient but efficient manner. He believes that the perfect teacher enables the pupil to become their own teacher! Being able to have clear direction and goals is of paramount importance. Also, having the capacity to ask “Why is this working/not working?” and having ideas on how to fix them is the fastest way to progress. After studying performance psychology alongside his clarinet studies at RCM and during his exchange in Finland, Isaac is deeply passionate about how the mind affects how we play and practice. He draws mostly from academics such as Anders Ericsson and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, and countless world-leading clarinet players whom he has been fortunate to learn from. Being an active professional musician by trade means Isaac is always striving to be on the top of his playing, which bolsters teaching practices immensely, allowing lessons to be driven through first-hand and recent experiences. This facilitates constantly fresh ideas for his pupils to work on alongside regular fundamentals. Isaac works regularly as a guest with some of the top orchestras in the country, such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Mozart Players, among others. He has recently been appointed as one of the Philharmonia’s ‘MMSF Emerging Artists’ for the 2023/24 season. Isaac’s rates factor in all the financial obligations of being self-employed, such as holiday pay, sick pay, pension contributions, familial leave, additional travel, increased preparation time or greater responsibility. Current inflation rates, including global food prices and transport costs, are also a continual factor in the fee. They also follow the recommended teaching rates for this location put forward by the Musician's Union, of which Isaac is a member. This is to avoid undercutting other tutors, whilst still wishing to provide affordable lessons. Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes: 30 minutes is ideal for young beginners, 45 for adult beginners and older pupils. 60 minutes for advanced players or those who wish to learn Music Theory in tandem. Do get in touch with Isaac to organise a lesson in Chiswick or the surrounding areas (within reason and subject to travel costs included), or to request more info!

Trusted teacher: Welcome to my online Piano Class. I am Maria Papadatou, and I will happily help you achieve your musical goals, from zero to the top. I love all student levels, but only towards the CLASSICAL piano, of any eras' compositions. Don't be afraid, my lesson is human-friendly 😊 Everything goes step by step, and out of the lesson time I send you lots of videos to support your practice through the week. As each student is different, I focus on each ones' needs and I am always creative in helping them learn through the simplest ways - "if it's easy, it's correct", that's my motto! My greatest happiness is to watch my students grow, overcome any limit and expand in full potential! Many of my students have won top prizes at major international competitions, as the IBLA Grand Prize, the Spoleto International Piano Competition, the Bach au Jazz (Lilia Boyadjieva) International Piano Competition and many others. And also, at renown online competitions, as The Royal, the IYMC, the Forte Academy, and many-many others. So, in case you need a competition preparation, here you are at the right place, as you'll discover the advanced piano technique, and the way to achieve your best musical interpretation. Also, very important, I'll help you understand and approach each composers' unique style, and secure your concert / stage presence, with simple and effective solutions for memorisation and control. I am a very proud piano teacher, as on Jan 11 2026 four young students of mine were awarded by the renown American Competition "The Royal Foundation" and were invited and performed at a Gala at the Carnegie Hall in New York City! Also, these kids were invited to participate to the Juilliard School festival, with masterclass and lessons, a fabulous chance and experience that I wish all young pianists could have! On Sept 1st 2024 three awarded students of mine were invited to perform at The DiMenna Classical Centre of Music in Manhattan, from another American competition, the International Youth Music Competition. I wish I can always bring such great opportunities and successes to all of my "piano kids"! Just search and watch our YouTube channel to see everyone's progress from the very first lessons to... the Carnegie!

Giorgia

I started my lessons with Giorgia four months ago, and I am so glad to have found her. As a 26-year-old beginner, I was not sure if I should even try to pursue learning an instrument at this point. But now I am so glad I did! I am learning online, and I was a little unsure of how lessons via webcam would go. Despite my prejudice, everything turned out great, even though my setup is quite basic. Her approach to teaching is very creative. She is able to explain things that seem hard to put into words, and she always finds comparisons and descriptions that convey clearly little details of approach that make a lot of difference in the end result. For any difficulty I encountered, she presented methods of exercise that helped correct it. Another thing that I appreciate is that from one lesson to the next, the volume of work is challenging enough that I feel I am making progress, but not to the point that I am overwhelmed. Also, even though I am just beginning and the pieces are not that complex, she explains the musical interpretation in a way that not only helps me advance my skill but also enriches the way I understand and listen to music, and I find great value in that. Her manner of teaching is very organic, and she is a patient teacher with a warm presence. I wholeheartedly recommend her lessons!

David

I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

After 4-5 months of learning piano with Maria, I owe her big gratitude. I decided to learn piano as an adult and Maria helped me to overcome my insecurities in music and motivated me to keep trying and practicing. She truly cares about the whole learning experience and uses amazing methods to guide me not only in improving my playing skills, but also my musicality. The piano classes with Maria are always inspiring and challenging, but not overwhelming. In each class, she corrects the techniques and accommodates exercises for practice accordingly. I am really satisfied with her dedication and feedback. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough. In her teaching, she uses the right dose of professionalism, friendliness, patience, and understanding. Her enthusiasm for the music is so contagious. Her lovely and passionate nature and energetic vibes simply make the class an enjoyable learning experience. I cannot wait for the next piano class with Maria. :)
