My classes are specifically designed for people who want to live in France and need to feel confident in all aspects of everyday life: administrative tasks, schooling for their children, culture and customs, and everyday communication. The biggest obstacle is often the fear of making mistakes, of sounding ridiculous, of not finding the right words. My goal is to help you break through that barrier so that speaking French becomes natural, fluent, and confident. Why are my classes different? They're in-person (at the Retiro Park or at home), because learning face-to-face changes your energy. Plus, everything feels better when you're moving and in a pleasant environment. What we will work on together: - Real-life conversations and culture: ordering in a restaurant, talking on the phone, integrating into a group. - Daily life in France: administrative procedures, schools if you have children, cultural habits, what you really need to settle in. - Confidence and fluency: speaking without fear of making mistakes. My methodology: - Practical and realistic, always based on authentic situations. - Dynamic and motivating: role-playing games, interaction, moving activities, - Digital support: exercises on Kahoot or other websites to review at home. - Clear and useful grammar: just what is necessary, applied practically. - personalized feedback (with my experience as a language teacher, I know if you have an A1/A2/B1 level...) You'll only need a notebook and a pen to write down the essentials of each class. My goal: for you to speak French with confidence, enjoy the process, and feel ready to live in France, work, or simply learn for pleasure.

Trusted teacher: I am an Italian native speaker and I am fluent in English, having lived a decade in a few different places in the UK. Furthermore I speak Spanish to a beginner-to-intermediate level. I’ve got two passions in life: music and cultures and they both relate to languages. Music is known to be a universal language and different cultures connect with, and influence each other, through the use of spoken language. My formal education lays in music, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, and a five-year diploma as a Jazz bass player from the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. I’ve been teaching music for fifteen years and during the last one I've decided to expand over to languages, by taking up the challenge to combine my passion for teaching with the love for languages. I’ve developed the latter during my many years abroad, where I shared my everyday life with people from all over te world. My method is essentially based on grammar and conversation, alternating the two based on the student’s level of fluency. Once the basics are mastered I focus on conversation, especially providing thorough explanation about typical words and expressions and their various acceptations within different contexts. At times I may also add the odd etymology side note when relevant. I also like to use readings upon subjects that are of the student’s interest, as this aids in nurturing their motivation. Given the transformative and fluid nature of speech, my aim is to deliver an organic learning experience, able to be put to fruition from the start and in everyday life, but that also won’t fail to address the differences between formal and informal interactions. Hence, avoiding inhibit a swift communication in favour of grammatical accuracy. A second level of my teaching focuses on expanding the student's writing skills and this is aimed to individuals who may have achieved a solid grasp of the basis and a wider knowledge on vocabulary. This is because writing is an art on its own and its objective is to convey one's true thoughts and feelings, therefore it requires a dedicated effort. I can teach in English, Italian and Spanish and lessons can be either in person at your place or mine, or via Zoom. Get in touch for more information!

Wow! I have to say I never had a language teacher like this! We spent the first meeting assessing the language level, and I don't mean A2 or B1, he evaluated my capabilities individually. In the evening he sent me countless multimedia sources that I could use to train all facets of the language at my level. He is very invested and expects the same from you, if you want a relaxed language class once a week that keeps you in your comfort zone and at the same level he is not for you. I decided to follow along and do as much as I could. Doing two classes a week I learned more Spanish than I would have ever thought to be possible!!! Furthermore, he takes care of your cultural education, a few weeks in the language journey we had a class at his house where he cooked an amazing dinner and we talked until late in the night. I recommend this amazing teacher 12/10!

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say how great she is as a teacher and as a person! She is not just the best teacher, but her personality is equally wonderful. She is incredibly patient and have a super cool way of teaching, and on top of that, she is super friendly. Plus, she is one of the smartest teachers I've ever had. In my opinion , she is the best teacher ever, and I can't believe how much I've learned, even from our very first class. Thanks a bunch for being so fantastic!

Excellent Teacher! Paula is really a fabulous teacher. She explains everything so simply and also lets me know the difference between a natural way of talking and a more formal way of writing. She's happy to go with the flow and work on what I need rather than follow a very strict, inflexible class structure. This creates a more organic class which suits me. It's clear she's passionate about making engaging and fun classes, where I'm learning exactly what I need. I throughly recommend!
