Hi there!

My name is Elizabeth, and I am about to commence my third year of studying German and Spanish at the University of Cambridge.

I am offering lessons in German (A* at A-Level and First Class in first year of Uni), Spanish (Grade 9 at GCSE and First Class in first year of Uni), and English Literature (Grade 9 at GCSE and A* at A-Level). I am also about to embark on my year abroad, during which I will spend 6 months working in Uruguay and 3 months working in Germany. It is for this reason that my lessons are only online at the moment.

I am a friendly tutor and I am willing to adapt my lessons to suit your needs and the learning methods which work best for you. I find that interactive learning methods are most effective, especially when it comes to modern languages, however I appreciate that this does not necessarily work for everyone, and I am keen to be very flexible to make the learning experience not only useful, but fun too!

I am an organised planner, and I will make sure that the content of our lessons is relevant to the exam board you are following.

All of my classes are suitable for beginners up to A-Level standard.

About Me

I am a passionate linguist, who has studied a total of four foreign languages. I have a keen love for English Literature; although I no longer officially study it, the skills it has provided me with (primarily critical reading and analysis) represent a core part of my academic skills.

I have been very fortunate to enjoy learning languages and studying English Literature, and I hope to provide other people with that experience as well!

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
