In the past when I was still living in Portugal (my home country), I have been a trumpet teacher for musicians of all ages. I am passionate about classical music, however, I am open to working with any music style, like Jazz, Pop, or Baroque. Before coming to the Netherlands, I graduated from the ESMAE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo) in Porto, Portugal. During my career, I have been working with musicians such as Floris Onstweder, Benny Wiame, Kevin Wauldron, Telmo Barbosa, and Carlos Leite. I also did a masterclass with musicians like Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts, Charles Schlueter, Gábor Tarkövi, Fábio Brum, Clément Saunier, and Andrei Kavalinski. My goal as your teacher is to give you the main tools to play trumpet and expose you to the various aspects of trumpet performance. I can teach you about aspects like style, tone quality, endurance, and musical phrasing. I am also happy to help you with any aspects of music theory if the student is interested in doing so. I will help you understand concepts such as keys and meter signatures. I am also willing to help you prepare for possible entrance exams to music schools or Conservatoriums. I am Carlos (08/02/1992), professional violinist and violin and viola teacher. I started playing the violin when I was 15 years old. This means I can still clearly remember the methods and techniques I used to learn how to play the violin. I will certainly take these experiences with me into my teaching position. These insights allow me to teach each student according to his/her desires and needs. My passion for teaching started when my father and nephew wanted to learn to play the violin. Since then I have continued to teach many students because I get energy and inspiration from my students. In recent years I have taught many different students and because of this I have gained a lot of experience in using different methodologies. Teaching is a big responsibility. My priority is to let the student have fun while learning and to stimulate musicality/creativity. Every student is different and has different interests, therefore every student will be taught in a different way and with a different method. The styles I teach can vary from classical to jazz, pop, etc. I have taught students of different levels both in Spain and in the Netherlands: beginners, amateurs, advanced. So I teach students who are preparing for the conservatory, but also the very first beginners. Because I am from Spain, I can teach in Spanish, English and Dutch.

This is an 8-session program aimed at the school ‘transition’ years of ages 12-19. The group sessions are facilitated following a broader Personal, Health, Social, and Economic Education (PSHE) curriculum focusing on gathering teens' needs, making them objects of reflection while leveraging neuroscience information and a playful approach. The program can also well serve as a taster for teachers/parents in separate sessions or workshops. In particular, Teen's Time explores issues around: - Working with concentration and focus; exploring how we can work with a wandering mind. - Identifying emotions, how they work, and interact with thoughts and body sensations. - Why humans worry, and how to support ourselves when we do so. - Sleep: why it is important and what to do if we struggle to sleep well. - Being with others: the opportunities and challenges of working skillfully with friendships and other relationships, Each session includes: - Learning about key areas of the brain and how they support us in our everyday activities - Some introductory breathing practices - Reflections - Animations, short video - Discussions - Role play's and enactment's - Exercises they can try in their own time Teen's Time is inspired and informed by the several children-oriented programs of the Mindfulness in School Program (MisP) organization. The feedback from children who have previously taken part in these programs is very positive. They report enjoying the group sessions and especially sharing their emotions with the other participants. They find learning and neuroscience helping them in a broad range of situations from being able to concentrate and focus more easily in school to helping them feel calmer in exams and competitions. Many have described sharing the learning with other family members and finding it helps them with their relationships with family and friends.
