De piano is een van de meest universele instrumenten. Als pianospeler kun je je eigen orkest zijn en als solist spelen, maar ook prachtig in ensembles musiceren of begeleiden, in wat voor muziekstijl dan ook.

In mijn lessen wil ik de leerling een brede basis bieden op de piano:

noten leren lezen, bestaande muziekstukken naspelen en interpreteren
goed leren luisteren, op het gehoor naspelen en zo na een tijdje je eigen pianopartij leren maken
spelen met akkoordenschema’s, inzicht krijgen in harmonie- en akkoordleer
leren improviseren en eigen stukken bedenken
samenspel, want zo leer je nog beter luisteren

Mijn eigen wortels liggen in de klassieke muziek, dat biedt een goede technische basis aan het instrument.

Al sinds mijn studiejaren vind ik musiceren het allerfijnst, als je diverse musicgenres (zoals b.v. klassiek, jazz, pop, wereldmuziek) voor jezelf ontdekt. Zo leer je deze verschillende muzikale werelden met elkaar te verbinden. Als docent wil ik al deze mogelijkheden aan de leerling doorgeven, zodat hij/zij, na een tijdje piano spelen, zijn/haar eigen weg kan bepalen.

Acerca de mí

Renate Jörg begon als klassieke pianodame. Tijdens haar studie kreeg ze op een dag een accordeon op haar schoot, wat haar tweede instrument werd. Ongeveer tegelijkertijd ontdekte ze de achterdeur van het theater (artiesteningang). Ze componeerde en musiceerde voor en met muziektheatergroepen.

Renate was jarenlang de vaste muzikante bij Verteltheater De Overkant, ze toerde door de Nederlandse theaters met de formatie KAAL (2e prijs Amsterdams Kleinkunstfestival) en werkte mee bij producties van Kindertheater Basta en Theater Van Santen. Ze maakte kindertheater met haar eigen Theatergroep Roosanne, schreef muziek voor de Hoorspelfabriek en was jarenlang muzikante bij Trio d’Affaire. Ze was de vaste accordeoniste van het kleinkunstduo Matroesjka en speelde bij Dorine van der Klei. Op dit moment speelt Renate bij Trio Bartolussi.

Ze bracht haar eigen liederenprogramma op CD uit: UND SCHIEFE SCHEITEL KÄMMT DER WIND. Dit programma speelde ze ook live in kleine zalen: een “eenvrouws-muziektheater op basis van klassieke kamermuziek” (Ntb Muziekwereld)

Formación

Ik studeerde muziekeducatie aan de LMU Munchen met hoofdinstrument piano klassiek. Al tijdens de studiejaren kwam ik via de accordeon in aanraking met heel veel verschillende muziekstijlen uit de wereldmuziek, later ook met jazz. Deze kennis pas ik natuurlijk ook aan de piano toe.

Over mijn lessen :)

- ONAFHANKELIJKHEID
Er is een Chinees spreekwoord dat zegt: “Geef een man een vis en je geeft hem één dag te eten. Leer een man te vissen en je geeft hem levenslang te eten “. In mijn lessen probeer ik mijn studenten aan het denken te zetten, zodat ze in de toekomst niet afhankelijk zijn van anderen om hun eigen keuzes te maken bij het spelen van een stuk.

- GEZONDE GEWOONTEN
Muzikanten kunnen gewond raken als ze niet oppassen. Daarom is het belangrijk om een goede houding, een efficiënte techniek en studiemethode te hebben.

- GENIETEN
Bij muziek moet het allemaal gaan om genieten. En ook in de lessen! Ik denk graag dat ik een goed gevoel voor humor heb, dus lachen is ook gegarandeerd tijdens de lessen.

- PERSONALISATIE
Lesgeven is niet “one size fits all”. Daarom pas ik mijn lessen aan voor elk type student. Duur, methodologie, prijs en planning worden bepaald op basis van de behoefte van de student.

My teaching method meets the student's needs. Above all, I try to make people keep their passion and taste for music and my main goal is to make music or art a pleasure and not a sacrifice.

I motivate students, showing them the benefits of exploring their unique talents, but also not hiding the need for continuous work and with some obstacles, sometimes difficult, to overcome.

I let the students bring their own musical choices and, over time, I also recommend material that I think may be useful for a faster, simpler, and more efficient evolution.
As I said, I focus on the pleasure of singing but also on the technique that allows us to achieve the best results with less effort.

The lessons will delve into both the technical and musical aspects of piano playing, theory, reading music, harmony, ear training, technique, pedagogy and more. My aim is to equip students to understand different music styles, build confidence, discover their unique voice and continue their musical journey independently. As Thelonious Monk said, the piano ain’t got no wrong notes.

I'm passionate about traversing genres since I have studied both jazz and classical to a high level, making this class perfect for creative pianists and composers who want to go beyond reading music off a piece of paper. Trinity/ABRSM curriculum upto Grade 8, can also be optionally included. Teaching effective practice methods is a priority, ensuring students progress confidently and without leaning on me. Please note, I only teach in person to maintain high standards of guidance in technique. This is not possible via video conferencing. Since everyone asks: yes, I did study at Berklee College of Music as an undergraduate for some time, and I do help students out with their audition preparation for various music colleges!

Music is Play! and everyone is it's own game.
Read, understand and make only the music you like. I think if it isn't fun, it can't be music:)

I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music. It's longer than 9 years now!
Most of my students learn piano. With the starter ones, I use my own system to equally help them grow all the needed skills: body consciousness (to avoid lesions or bad habits), music theory (including writing and reading) and improvisation.
Usually most songs are made of melody, chords and rhythm. From there, I can help you understand how a song works, how is it written, how does it translate to the piano... and voilá! You'll know the song by heart, and will be able to play it a bit different every time, because you won't be following a set of pre-imposed instructions. You will understand how a small system (a song) works.
This way of learning can be applied to any song, from any century or style. Understanding is key! Play Chopin, write rock songs, play Monk, Bill Evans, the Beatles, make a lo-fi beat, play Beethoven, play the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars, play video game music, play salsa! bachata and make people dance, laugh or cry.
Music is very powerful!

PD: I have also experience imparting electronic music lessons in Ableton Live and Max MSP, which is now a very important part of my professional practice. Mijn naam is Mar en ik ben een 26-jarige professionele pianist (met pedagogische opleiding). Ik heb de masteropleiding Klassiek Pianospel als solist afgerond aan het Conservatorium van Utrecht en volg nu een tweede masteropleiding Pianospel aan de Codarts in Rotterdam.
Ik werk al 12 jaar als piano- en muziekleraar (ik begon heel erg jong, toen ik 14 jaar oud was, omdat ik altijd al graag lesgaf): ik heb ervaring met privélessen en officiële staatsmuziekscholen, met kinderen vanaf 2 jaar en volwassenen van alle niveaus, zowel individueel als in groepen. Ik heb piano, muziek en beweging voor kinderen, muziektheorie, solfège en koor gegeven.

Ik heb mijn bacheloropleiding met de hoogste cijfers afgerond, heb ervaring als concertartiest en heb veel internationale prijzen gewonnen in wedstrijden en ook beurzen.

Hello! I’m Leticia, a professional soprano from Cuba, now living in Amsterdam. I’ve spent years teaching at the National Conservatory of Music in Cuba, performing as a soloist, with choirs, and in ensembles of various formats, sharing stages nationally and internationally. My experience spans classical, jazz, salsa, and traditional Cuban music

I’ve just arrived in Amsterdam and I’ve recently started learning Dutch and I am getting more confident in English. Even though I’m working on many personal goals, what truly drives me is the desire to work especially in the field I love and have dedicated so many years of my life to, helping students of all ages discover their musical voice, whether it’s singing, playing piano, or understanding music theory.
