Mathematics and Physical Sciences for middle and high school
From 31.65 $ /h
I offer courses and tutoring in mathematics and physical sciences from level 4 to Terminale. I make sure to be very descriptive, very practical, and to develop in the learners an in-depth understanding of the concepts before moving forward.
My experience :
- maths sciences: 4 years in vocational high school (mainly in industry)
- physical sciences: 2 years in a public high school in the United States.

About Me
I am a maths and science teacher in a technical school in France, with a public with various needs (from drop outs to future engineers, sometimes both at the same time).
I did most of my college education in the US (Kansas and Oregon), and taught physical sciences in a high school there for two years.
I became passionate about teaching sciences late in life : in my thirties, I went back to college to learn electrical engineering, but quickly switched to Physics. Understanding the world from the ground up is not only useful in many respects: it is also a compeling experience, a feeling of deep understanding of nature that never ceases to amaze me.
I am fluent in English (minus the occasional french word that occasionnaly surfaces here or there, but I can catch myself...), and learned most of what I know in the US, so the language barrier is non-existent.
My teaching style is "from the ground up". First, we identify together the elements with which you are familiar, the we build on these foundations. That's why coming with a set of questions (or problems) to answer is usually a good idea - the first necessary step to learning is asking questions. I can also whip up a short course on any topic, but that would require some time to prepare - not an increase in cost for you, just a bit of patience for me to get ready. For this reason, iyou need regular help on a course you're taking in high school, be sure to forward the syllabus to me.
