- I'm a professional Italian teacher from Italy, now living between Pisa and Rome. I have 10 years of teaching experience. I am very patient and I love to make a relaxed and friendly class environment. I have qualifications and experience teaching at different levels and in different contexts. I can help the student to improve the oral, written, and comprehension skills. Most important is that each course is based on the needs, interests, and availability of the student. I can offer students private accommodation in Pisa, a comfortable private apartment in the historic center of the city, a short walk from my home. - The method is mainly what is called communicative, aimed at stimulating the student to speak immediately and putting the focus on the functional aspect of the language. For beginners, I usually follow a specific program, I prepare a course, and for each lesson, I send students the files that I scan from the various books. Also, the lessons can be essentially developed as conversations on specific subjects.

I started teaching at 19 thanks to the director of my high school and I have more than 15 years of experience, in Italy and abroad, all over the world thanks to the internet. I offer online Italian courses for all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced learners, i.e., C2. I always have quality reference books to recommend to students. My classes are highly personalized and tailored to the specific needs of each student. I guarantee quality because I put a lot of passion and care into everything I do, trying not to overlook the details. 🚀 During the lessons, I will help you learn the basics of general Italian, paying attention to pronunciation and intonation while reading. I am always attentive to the needs of the students and ready to tailor my lessons. My lessons are an investment for the present and the future because they are prepared with passion, a lot of experience, and dedication 🧡. 🌟 If you are a beginner, don't worry because I take great care to make you feel comfortable. ➡️ I work on different levels: conversation on different topics, grammar, reading, writing, dictation and games (role-playing games in which the student can test himself by communicating in a natural and practical way with the teacher, as in real life). In addition, preparation for official language certificates (CELI, CILS, PLIDA), the Swiss maturity exam, apprenticeship as a commercial employee CFC and tailor-made courses in a certain professional field. ➡️ All levels: A1-C2

If you answer yes to one or more of these questions: ○ Do you want to learn the basics of Italian, one of the most beautiful languages in the world? ○ Would you like to converse in Italian with a native speaker, improve your oral communication and pronunciation, and learn new commonly used expressions? ○ Are you fascinated by the culture, art, gastronomy or even the history of Italy? ○ Or do you mainly need to revise Italian grammar, improve your written communication or practice conjugation? So good news, look no further: you've come to the right place! Dante's language will no longer hold any secrets for you thanks to clear, dynamic and entertaining lessons, adapted to your pace and your personal needs. - Small games will also be organized: don't they say that it's by having fun that we learn best? - In addition, classes will be taught primarily in Italian from day one. For me, immersion is the most direct method of learning. However, I will use French, English, or German to clarify any doubts, especially for beginners. - Having learned many languages myself, I understand the challenges you face and can share with you the techniques that helped me overcome them. - At the end of each course, you will receive a personalized document containing all my notes and observations to facilitate revision and your learning. If you are motivated, I can: - plan homework to help you progress more quickly. - share authentic material with you in the form of articles, videos, films or podcasts to present and comment on with me during the course. An expert in Italian culture and literature thanks to my university studies and multilingualism, I offer courses that will help you progress quickly thanks to an effective method. My classes are structured to allow you to practice conversation (practice Italian through everyday situations), work on grammar in a targeted manner and enrich your vocabulary through the analysis of written or oral documents together. No, you don't see the unexpected news, here you go! I look forward to meeting you, see you soon!

Ciao! I have been teaching Italian for the past sixteen years, privately and at language schools including La Scuola Italiana del Greenwich Village in New York and ItalCultura, the school of the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago. During our first two lessons, I’ll make sure you have the tools to pronounce and recognize all the sounds of Italian. This step is essential, and it makes everything that comes afterwards much easier. When I teach, I try to avoid all the things I hated as a language student. My terrifying French teacher in middle school made us repeat the same fake dialogue from a really bad textbook ad nauseam, over and over and over again. Some of it is still carved into my brain: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Richard Drapeau, je viens du Canada, je suis Canadien...” So we won’t do that. We’ll use real songs and real literature. We’ll have real conversations, tell stories, improvise, and, when possible, go on “talking walks.” I find that when you engage more of your senses, it becomes easier to relax, stay curious, and actually remember new words. I customize my materials around your interests, needs, and desired pace. If you love cinema, we can work with films. If you’re interested in literature, politics, food, art, history, or simply being able to have a proper conversation when you’re in Italy, that can become part of the class. And because you’re learning with a native Italian, you’ll also learn about Italian culture, history, habits, gestures, contradictions, and ways of thinking. Language is never just a pile of grammar rules. I speak several languages myself, so I know both how exciting and how painfully tedious learning one can be. My aim is to give you a strong foundation without draining all the life out of it. I hold a degree in Lingue e Letterature Straniere (Foreign Languages and Literatures) from Università Roma Tre and a Master of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts and Media from Columbia College Chicago. I wrote my university thesis on translating a long epic poem by W. H. Auden, and at one point I tried to ride a horse across America.
