English Literature and Language tutor for KS3/GCSE/A-Level

Understanding what makes a powerful and effective essay is a key part of writing and nailing those exams up ahead. My lessons will involve reviewing my student's writing and working together to find elements that need improvement. We will focus on essay planning, cohesiveness, originality, and exam technique. My sessions will not be lectures and require active participation and effort from myself and my student. If needed, I will set small amounts of homework to encourage even more progress.

During my final years in school, I was responsible for leading tutoring sessions for younger year groups, and provided one-on-one tutoring for several of my A-Level classmates. I also achieved the top mark in the world for OxfordAQA English Literature in my 2023 A-Levels.

Présentation

I am 18 years old and currently living in Aberdeen. I am British and Lebanese and grew up in Dubai. I love to teach and work with my students collaboratively in order to develop skills that they are proud of, clear evidence of all their hard work. I can easily adapt to the needs of my students and whether they prefer to absorb information through speech, written guides, diagrams, or a combination. Focus and willingness to engage with me and ask questions is extremely important to my sessions. I want my students to be comfortable making mistakes and engaging in self-reflection.

Singing Lessons for Beginner - Intermediate (any age)

You will learn how to develop your vocal technique alongside your confidence and performance skills. This includes expanding your vocal range, enriching your tone and improving your control. My sessions are very collaborative and I want you to be comfortable making mistakes! We will find the perfect balance between technique and emotion to make you a stronger performer. I am experienced in several genres including classical, pop, jazz, musical theatre and Arabic, making me able to adapt to whichever style(s) you would like to explore.

I specialize in teaching and tutoring English as a Second Language, with a speciality in teaching English to French speakers. Classes available for all levels and ages.

This class can be fully conversation-based or a mix of conversation, listening, reading and writing exercises.

I speak French, Igbo, Yoruba and some German and am equipped to give some instruction in these languages.

My classes are student-centred and I adapt the classes corresponding to the needs, expectations of each learner. This means that, if you are willing to improve your speaking skills, for instance, I provide you with specific learning methods and activities that would mainly focus on verbal communication and so on. After each class, I assign a small homework piece, always based on how busy you are during the week, as I believe repetition is key to improvement. I provide a comfortable and energetic learning environment, in which learners can express themselves confidently.
