Strong experience with students of the French high school for the "Evening of Talents", as well as teaching a preparatory course for the entrance examination of La Cambre. Now a private lesson teacher for more than seven years, I have been able to welcome more than fifty different students of all ages, with whom we have discussed: - the basics of sewing and patronage (dress, pants, skirt, shirt, etc.), - the realization of customized models, - the design of a clothing line with a collection plan - or the reproduction of existing models from photos and even costumes of stars! In absolute terms, it is therefore possible to develop a personal project or basic learning. IMPORTANT: If you cancel LESS THAN 24 hours before the course, you will be CHARGED. After two consecutive cancellations, I will no longer be able to provide you with lessons. The courses are given only in my workshop, simply because the equipment is made available to you for the smooth running of the course (except the fabric and haberdashery necessary for your projects). No home lessons possible. The hourly rate is valid for one person, in the case of a course for several people, the rate increases proportionally. No courses possible on weekends.

Trusted teacher: Please note I do not have the same availability every week, except the 7pm-8pm slot on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Though predictable, my availability for earlier times changes weekly. I'm aware that might not suit some students. I'm based in Blackrock. My lessons are face-to-face at a cafe in Blackrock or at my student's home (when it's not too far from Blackrock/Stillorgan) as I'm learning to drive and have young kids. Online lessons are available if students wish to practice speaking rather than learning grammar or working on a textbook. I can also teach Shodo(Japanese Calligraphy), Origami, and how to make karaage, teriyaki dishes and matcha desserts. My availability changes every week except a 7-8pm slot (I'm available from 7-8pm every week except Monday and Thursday) due to my husband's work schedule. I have 3-4 days every week where I'm available from 2pm onwards. (Some week I'm available from Fri to Mon, other week I'm available from Tue to Thurs). I'm also available from 10:00-12:00 on weekdays. I teach all ages and all levels (including Leaving Cert students). I have 5 years one-on-one teaching experience (in Japan, Australia and Ireland) with adults, teens and kids. Before I started university, I wasn't confident in my English skills though I was always getting good grades at school. Being immersed into Linguistics taught me the whole new perspectives. I offer advice and recommendations, but I usually let my students pick textbooks as every student has different preferences and goals. I completed the IB with HL English and received a 7 (highest mark) in my final exam. I will be able to go over both Standard Level and Higher Level syllabuses for the course specific to the material covered in your school, and prepare you for mock and final exams. I will include essay writing skills, literary criticism and analysis, as well as vocabulary expansion techniques in my teaching. A brief overview of the key features of English SL/HL as set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation: • Higher level study requires a minimum of 240 class hours, while standard level study requires a minimum of 150 class hours • Students study 13 works at higher level and 9 works at standard level from a representative selection of literary forms, periods and places • Students develop the ability to engage in close, detailed analysis of literary works, building understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism • The study of literary works in context is emphasised, and through the study of literature in translation the student is challenged to reflect on the role of cultural assumptions in interpretation • Students are assessed through a combination of formal examination and oral and written coursework. • The formal examination comprises two essay papers, one requiring the analysis of a passage of unseen literary text, and the other comparative response to a question based on two works studied • Students also perform an oral activity presenting their analysis of two works studied • HL students comply with an additional written coursework requirement which consists of writing a 1200 - 1500 word essay on one of the works studied

Marko is an amazing teacher and I would definitely recommend him to anyone! He is very patient, organized, kind and smart. Every class he provides the material and it is very useful, because in this way I can repeat from it after the class. Our online lessons really helped me improve and I became so much better! Doriane is a nice person as well as a very good teacher who is very knowledgable and skilled, and the most important, patient. I had 12 sessions with her and we made a wool trousers and a blouse using commercial patterns. I learned a lot of tips from her during those sessions. They will surely help me kick start my project on my own. I will like to recommand her to everyone at every level to learn sewing and making fassion.

Rob is fantastic - warm, engaging, and patient. My 10-year-old son has been taking a weekly class with Rob for the entire school year. Rob is very responsive and communicative, so scheduling and other logistics have been smooth. He incorporates my son's interests into the lessons while building foundational skills. Rob has helped my son grow as a musician and, perhaps most importantly, maintain an enthusiasm for the process.
