J'ai effectué un master en philologie classique à l'ULB, ce comprenant l'agrégation pédagogique.
Je désire aider les élèves à découvrir l'une ou l'autre langue ancienne, à approfondir ses connaissances, à palier certaines "lacunes".
Ainsi, les leçons sont assez libres : elles suivent exclusivement les besoins et envies de l'élève ou, à défaut, le programme scolaire adapté à l'année d'étude.
Nous pouvons explorer la grammaire et le vocabulaire au travers d'exercices purs comme de textes, proposés ou non par l'élève.

Enfin, les leçons se veulent les plus participatives possibles ; j'accompagne l'élève dans son cheminement et lui apprends les clefs pour continuer à avancer.

Les cours peuvent se faire sur place comme à distance, selon des horaires assez flexibles.

Let's start by declensions and so on. We'll discover the verbal tenses and how is a phrase done. You don't know the slight aspects unless have studied how Ancient Greek's verbs work, or the Ancient Indian.
So, if we can translate texts (at first easier ones, the the original), we could reach anywhere in the vast world around the Roman Empire. Latin is the basis for the Romance languages. And Greek is more usual between us than you could imagine (Medicine, over all).

You could structure your mind as the ancient did! They are the "little box" where you can put in whatever you want. It also provides a manner to live and to work in order to know the essential tasks and the rest.

Mijn naam is Serdane en ik bied oude taalcursussen aan aan middelbare scholieren die moeite hebben met het ontwikkelen van een werkwijze die bij hen past. Extravert en bruisend...en vooral veel humor!

Iedereen leert op zijn eigen manier. Daarom hanteer ik geen rigide methode, maar pas ik me aan aan de specifieke kenmerken van elke student. Ik beoordeel hun niveau, hun sterktes, eventuele zwaktes of vertragingen en pas mijn koers daarop aan. Mijn prioriteit is om het vertrouwen van de student te herstellen: Latijn en Grieks zijn voor iedereen toegankelijk als ze goed worden uitgelegd!

Ik geloof in de effectiviteit van actieve onderwijsmethoden: ik moedig maximale studentenparticipatie aan en begeleid ze om te ontdekken wat voor hen het beste werkt. Hierdoor kan hij zelfstandig verder leren.

Tot slot bied ik specifieke hulp bij het voorbereiden van vragen of examens in complexere onderwerpen.

I am a native speaker of Greek. I graduated from a Greek high school and, later, the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, and linguistics.

During our lessons, I'll help you develop your skills (oral/written, and not only). I'll also try to help you improve your pronunciation and spelling. I assign homework and after I receive it, correct it thoroughly additionally providing a lot of remarks/examples if they are necessary.

I worked at a language center between 2009-2016 where I was a director of studies and taught mainly English as a foreign/second language. Since 2005, when I first started teaching Greek, I have taught children and adults on a variety of language proficiency levels, mainly individually.

I constantly seek progress, meaning that I study further through reading books/articles concerning didactics/methodology and learning difficulties (chiefly dyslexia), observing other teachers as well as attending seminars (online or face-to-face).

During my lessons I use :
- Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you,
- Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep,
- sketch board me to make mind maps to show connections between ideas, etc.
- books, PPP, word docs, diagrams, pics, etc.
- pronunciation/spelling/grammar games,
- authentic materials were taken from websites.

I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective and close to real-life needs as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding.

An introduction to the basic syntactic and grammatical phenomena of the ancient Greek language. We use texts from the ancient Greek Literature (Ancient Greek History, Tragedies and Myths) as well as the Bible or Byzantine Hymnology in order to better understand the structure and way of thinking of the Greek language. The course is addressed to anyone who either has or doesn't have a knowledge of the Greek language. It is built as a personalized course, based on each student's level, motivation and learning needs.

Ik heb meerdere jaren ervaring met het bijles geven van studenten van verschillende leeftijdsgroepen in Latijn en Oudgrieks. Ik ben diep gepassioneerd door deze talen en ik vind het leuk om studenten te helpen deze talen te verbeteren.
Ik geloof dat het begrijpen van de structuur van een zin van fundamenteel belang is bij het benaderen van deze talen, daarom is dit een belangrijk aandachtspunt voor mij. Tijdens de les besteed ik altijd wat tijd aan het redeneren en samen met de leerling vertalen van zinnen.

Ik heb een bachelordiploma in farmaceutische biotechnologie en ben momenteel een masterstudent geneeskunde. Biologie vind ik heel boeiend en ik geef er al jaren bijles in. Afhankelijk van het onderwerp en de behoeften van de leerling structureer ik de lessen anders. Meestal leg ik het onderwerp uit en gebruik ik hulpmiddelen zoals gespreide herhaling, aantekeningen en conceptuele kaarten om er zeker van te zijn dat de leerling het heeft begrepen.

Que vous soyez débutants ou plus avancés, je vous ferai progresser en latin ou en grec ancien, que vous apprendrez comme une langue vivante : il ne s'agira pas essentiellement de traduire le latin ou le grec, mais surtout de le parler, de le lire, de l'écrire !

OUBLIEZ VOTRE DICTIONNAIRE
Ce faisant, vous mémoriserez bien plus facilement le vocabulaire et les structures grammaticales qu'avec la méthode classique reposant essentiellement sur la traduction. Vous ne passerez plus votre vie dans le dictionnaire, et à terme, vous lirez vos auteurs favoris à livre ouvert !

LATIN
Je propose essentiellement un cours de latin vivant à partir de la méthode Orberg, plébiscitée par des milliers de latinistes dans le monde. Que vous soyez débutants ou plus avancés, je peux vous accompagner sur les chapitres correspondant à votre niveau de Familia Romana (premier volume) ou de Roma Aeterna (deuxième volume). Il est donc important que vous vous procuriez ce livre.

Si vous souhaitez travailler sur Familia Romana, je vous recommande aussi vivement d'acheter le cahier d'exercices du Vivarium Novum pour consolider votre apprentissage : le volume I pour les chapitres I à XIX, le volume II pour les chapitres XX à XXXIV.

GREC
Pour le grec, nous nous servirons de la méthode Logos. Il appartiendra à l'étudiant de se procurer un exemplaire de ce manuel.

DES COURS À LA CARTE
Je suis cependant à l'écoute des élèves et des étudiants en attente de méthodes plus conventionnelles, notamment dans le cadre de la préparation au baccalauréat, aux concours des grandes écoles, ou encore à l'agrégation. Version, thème, explication de texte ancien : tous ces exercices me sont bien connus pour les avoir pratiqués de longues années.

Il est également envisageable de bâtir un parcours à partir de vos envies (à l'exclusion des textes érotiques et des manuels de magie). Vous souhaitez suivre une méthode plutôt qu'une autre ? Découvrir un auteur particulier ? Dites-le-moi ! Attention cependant à rester réaliste ! On ne s'attaque pas à Xénophon ou à Tite-Live sans un niveau solide.

Passé rapidement le cap de l'apprentissage de l'alphabet, l'élève est plongé directement dans des textes d'auteurs peu difficiles pour acquérir progressivement les bases (déclinaisons et conjugaisons, syntaxe). Si le cours demande de la rigueur, son caractère plaisant est assuré par la nature des textes proposés, et par les illustrations qui l'accompagnent.
