Overview:
I offer bespoke tutoring services to school pupils and individuals studying History, Politics, and English. With a background in History and experience in the teaching and media sectors, I provide a professional, insightful, and comprehensive service aimed at improving a client's understanding of a topic, their confidence within it, and targeting specific issues and skills as required.

I also provide advice on university selection and applications, building on experience as an applicant myself and coach for successful applicants to highly selective universities (including Oxford, St Andrews, and UCL).

Teaching methodology:
I believe that the best way to teach is to communicate, work out the student's needs with them, and proceed from there. We live in a diverse world, and it's important to reflect that diversity in teaching. I believe in using a variety of sources to help teach, ranging from films, to books, to music clips. This is particularly important in the context of clients with LS needs, as a focus on one kind of source can impact the pupil's experience,and hinder their success.

My lessons are based on a core Learning Objective, changing from lesson to lesson with the curriculum. Around that, there will be a series of case studies, examples, and anecdotes, with personalised support for exam answers if required. Half the battle with the humanities is ensuring that good ideas are communicated well- I seek to teach history and support the development of those communication skills to ensure that the pupil's ability is reflected.

I specialise in tutoring English from primary school age through to university level. My goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed; all lessons are unique to each student. I am highly experienced, having worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school and secondary school, and I have just graduated with a first-class degree in English. The seminar is designed for students with advanced reading skills as the primary readings are mainly novels. Students are expected to carry out individual research.
