Teaching approach:
I have always been fascinated by ancient Egypt, and during my studies of Foreign Languages and Literature at Turin University, I took Egyptology for one year. I studied with Professor Silvio Curto, a well known Egyptologist who was the Director of the Turin Museum for many years. Since my studies I have kept reading Egyptology texts and enriching my knowledge, my main interest and specialization being ancient Egyptian mythology, deities (and especially goddesses), as well as magic.

Course program:
Turin is the city in which I was born, raised and where I lived for a long time. This city is closely linked to ancient Egypt, since it houses the oldest Egyptian Museum worldwide, and still one of the most important collections in the world.

In this course we are going to visit the Museo Egizio in Turin virtually, and we are going to read and discuss interesting texts written by Egyptologists, discussing many fascinating topics, such as ancient Egyptian magic, mythology, gods and goddesses, women in Ancient Egypt and many more. And if you visit Turin, a live lesson in the Egyptian Museum in the form of a guided visit can be arranged!

In diesem Kurs werden wir das ‚Museo Egizio‘ in Turin virtuell besichtigen, und wir werden uns über viele faszinierende Themen unterhalten, wie z.B. ägyptische Magie, Gottheiten, berühmte Pharaos, Amulette, altägyptische Kunst und vieles andere mehr. Wir werden auch interessante Fragen beantworten: Wann begann das alte Ägypten? Wie alt wurden die Ägypter? Waren Frauen gleichberechtigt? Welche Farben gab es in der ägyptischen Sprache? ¡Hola! Me llamo Lucíay soy filóloga y profesora de secundaria por la rama de francés y lengua castellana. También estoy en posesión del First Certificate y de numerosos cursos relacionados con el campo de la educación, tales como el "Curso sobre Flipped Learning" o el "Curso sobre diseño y elaboración de programaciones didácticas". Por otro lado, destacar que me manejo en cuatro lenguas extranjeras: francés e inglés con fluidez, portugués y alemán a nivel medio (B1).
En cuanto a mi experiencia laboral como docente, llevo impartiendo clases particulares desde el año 2016, sobre todo a niños de la ESO, pero también a alumnado de Primaria o a personas adultas que querían mejorar su nivel de idiomas. También he dado clases de lectoescritura a gente de la tercera edad. En 2019 finalicé el Máster de Formación para el Profesorado (antiguo CAP) y realicé mis prácticas profesionales en el IES Mata Jove, donde aprendí muchísimo en lo relativo al Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos, ya que mi tutor llevaba a cabo esa metodología con sus estudiantes. Tiempo después, estuve residiendo en Madrid donde trabajé en una academia y di clases particulares a un alumno con TDAH, mejorando así mi formación en adolescentes con NEAE. Finalmente, he trabajado como profesora de francés en el colegio Beata Imelda- Santo Tomás a lo largo del curso 2021/2022, momento en el que he aprendido a desenvolverme en el aula y a moverme mejor en el ámbito de la educación reglada.
Actualmente trabajo por las tardes en una academia como responsable del área de humanidades y me gustaría compaginar mi actividad profesional ofreciendo este curso de apoyo escolar.

Who this is for?

This course is for motivated students aiming for TU / FH / Akademie - Bachelor Degree, in Vienna.
It follows a mentorship model, providing close guidance and structured support to help students prepare for both Matura and architecture admission exams with greater clarity, efficiency, and (hopefully) reduced risk of burnout.

Format & rhythm

• Recommended rhythm: 2 individual sessions / week, each 3–4 h, primarily held in person.
• Online sessions are offered only when in-person attendance is not possible.
• Start: ideally 9–12 months before the admission date.
• First session: skills assessment drawing test + short questionnaire (preferences, favorite architects, goals). Students who present previous work skip the drawing test.
• Language: English (with translations/explanations as needed).
• Recommended age: 16+

• Artistic / Representation: traditional drawing (still life, line quality, composition), shape and volume studies, color and material basics, light and values, architectural views, physical modeling and sculpture, photography for portfolio use.

• Portfolio strategy aligned with the student’s vision and academic criteria; project-based work with feedback; curated final portfolio pages; captions and visual storytelling;
• TU Wien - specific support including sketches for the motivation letter and ranking test preparation.

3. Interview & Jury impression

• How to present choices: storytelling (problem → idea → resolution → learning).
• Jury cares about: clarity of thinking, process visibility, curiosity, adaptability, visual literacy, attitude.
• Prepare answers for likely questions: motivations, favorite works, why architecture, what you learned from a project, how you solve problems.
