With over 12 years of teaching experience and an international career as a composer and classical guitarist, I offer personalised online lessons in music composition and theory tailored to your goals and interests-- whether that's songwriting, notated music composition, chamber music, film scoring, or sound design,

I hold a Master’s in Composition from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and specialise in electroacoustic music, chamber music, and spatial sound design. My compositions have been performed across Europe, the US, Asia, and Australia, and I’ve worked with renowned ensembles such as Ensemble Offspring, Nieuw Ensemble, and National Sawdust. Awards include the 2022 Hildegard Commission and the 2023 APRA Professional Development Award (Classical/Experimental), as well as several fellowships from artistc residencies across Germany.

I graduated with Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in classical guitar performance and completed my Masters degree in music at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As a professional performer and composer, altogether I have performed and/or had my work featured in festivals, venues, concert halls, and public events throughout Australia, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, Morocco, the U.K., Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and the U.S.

I’m a professional classical guitar performer and educator from Sydney, Australia. I have been developing my music teaching business for over 9 years, through which I teach a wide range of styles, levels, and ages. Lessons are specifically tailored to meet the needs of each student, whether the focus is on classical guitar performance, chords, pop/rock, or Spanish-style fingerpicking. Music theory, composition, songwriting, improvisation, sight-reading, and preparation for high school exams or University auditions are all options that can be incorporated into lessons.

I have plenty of experience with young children and teenagers as well as adults, from complete beginners to advanced players. My teaching philosophy is holistic in that I strive to help my students become well-rounded musicians with a range of listening, reading, improvisation, and analytical skills, while of course carefully choosing repertoire that will cater to the student’s taste as well as their abilities. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

One of the key aspects I focus on is supporting the student's interest and developing their motivation. In connection with this, lessons are held in a comfortable, respectful psychological atmosphere without pressure, where the student can relax and be themselves, without fear of judgment from the teacher.

In lessons, I use supplementary materials such as poems, paintings, and sculptures to enrich the student's understanding of music.

Lessons are adapted for age. Children usually prefer a game-based approach: minimum theory and more playing.

I have been teaching intensively since first year of Bachelor and have had students from various age groups with different goals. My main teaching materials are suzuki/abrsm, but I will flexibly accommodate to your needs.

This course is designed to build skills in either playing the cello, music theory, ear training, or all three! If you are seeking to learn cello this course is a great place to start. I am most familiar with the suzuki books, however I am dedicated to making cello and music as widely available as I can, so if access to sheet music is a challenge I am open to pursuing alternate lesson plans.
If you are a current music student who isn't seeking to learn cello but would like support in Music Theory or Aural Skills (also often referred to as Ear Training), I am more than happy to provide tutoring in those subjects.
