I offer lessons that are fun, interactive, and based on what my students need and want to learn. I do this through a variety of activities to help you build your skills step by step; including role-playing games (based on real-life situations), Q&A's and games. ¡The goal is to keep you talking! The lessons are mainly given in Spanish, so you can learn and practice as much Spanish as possible during the lesson. Don't worry about making mistakes; By making mistakes and learning from them, you even become better. Repetition is an important part of my lessons. I often go back to check if you remember what was introduced in previous lessons. Before we start our lessons, I want to know your reasons for learning Spanish. If you already have some knowledge of Spanish, I will determine your exact level. Once I know your needs, interests, and level, I can select the right materials and design the right course for you. I find it better to work with a textbook to give structure to the lessons. I also use videos, slides, worksheets, and other teaching materials. If you like, I can also email you exercises and resources so you can continue learning independently. Our lessons can be online (as per Zoom), I can come to your home (and Haarlem, Velserbroek, Santport-Noord, Driehuis or Heemstede). Hallo allemaal, ik ben Valerie en kreeg Portugese les van Melissa. Ik raad Melissa zeker aan. Melissa heeft alles in huis om de les zeer leerzaam, leuk , duidelijk en voorbereid te laten verlopen. Na een paar lessen kan ik al een aardig woordje Portugees! Melissa zorgt voor een positieve energieke les sfeer! Naast de thuis lessen zijn er ook online lessen. Marko is an amazing teacher and I would definitely recommend him to anyone! He is very patient, organized, kind and smart. Every class he provides the material and it is very useful, because in this way I can repeat from it after the class. Our online lessons really helped me improve and I became so much better! He also used a digital board which is very convenient and helpful. I loved also how he challenged me in order to work on my skills and improve them. Keep up the great work Marko! :)

Summer is one of the best teachers we have had. Her solid experience as a teacher shines in her lessons. She always comes with an infallible lesson plan directed to engage even the most distracted student. Through her different activities, she paces the lesson just right and makes it very lively.
