However, diving into the wonders of the piano/keyboard can be a bit overwhelming... and that is where I come in! This course is for anyone from complete beginners to advanced students, from lessons that focus completely on classical music to lessons that include or focus on the basics of jazz/pop. If you like to sing, we can also work on the basics of jazz/pop vocal, so you can learn to accompany yourself at the piano. In our lessons, technique will be an inherent part of the training, as well as analysis, basic music theory, and efficient ways of practicing music. If that all sounds good to you, then please reach out to me and we can start ASAP! Lessons can be in English or Dutch. So who am I? In a nutshell, I am a professional pianist, vocalist, lyricist and blogger. Since 2014, I have taught in various music schools, teaching piano, ensemble, jazz vocal, and solfege. On a more elaborate note, I obtained my Master of Arts in classical piano, summa cum laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent (KASK) in 2017, and studied as a Fulbrighter at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington USA during the 2019-2020 academic year. My aim is to build my student's confidence, by following their line of inquiry — engaging in a rich, and increasingly challenging dialogue with the individual. My classes are for children and teenagers, who want to: . Develop and widen their vocabulary; . Need help preparing for an exam, a paper or an important interview; . Gain confidence in spoken English; . Attain a fluent level of spoken and written English We will begin by identifying the student's greatest interests — those subjects they are most curious about and topics that stimulate them. These topics will be "stimulators", fueling conversations and language activities that the student themselves will eventually lead. Then, we will identify the student's biggest worries regarding the English language — where they are confused, or tend to make mistakes. This will form the workshop part of the lesson, focused on overcoming tricky grammatical mistakes and revising more complex linguistic and phonetic errors. I also offer the possibility of following a Cambridge exam orientated syllabus, such as Family and Friends, Cambridge Starters, Movers, Flyers, or B1, B2. After 8 years of teaching I have found this tailored approach to be, by far, the most effective. I look forward to collaborating with you soon!
