Each week, I always include quizzes on your chosen topics to assess your understanding at random points, and we start completing essay-style and past paper source questions from the get-go to ensure students are comfortable with the exam format. I have pre-made answer structures for each type of source question to simplify this part of the exam, and to ensure that students can pick up as many marks as possible. Having achieved 100% in both my National 5 and Higher History prelims and therefore obtaining the History award at my school, I know exactly how to get every mark available to students taking this exam. This course offers an interdisciplinary approach to exploring social sciences, philosophy and Arabic language learning. It aims to provide learners with a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts of social sciences, to develop critical thinking skills in philosophy.

In social sciences, we will analyze social dynamics, institutions and social phenomena, such as mental health, education, family and inequality. Students will study classical and contemporary sociological theories while developing a critical understanding of the structures that govern society.

Philosophy, for its part, will encourage an exploration of major ethical, existential and metaphysical questions, with an emphasis on reflection and logical reasoning. Students will be invited to question the concepts of justice, truth and freedom, and to connect these notions to contemporary issues.

In parallel, learning the Arabic language will be aimed at non-native speakers wishing to develop their oral and written communication skills. The course will offer an immersion in the basics of grammar, vocabulary and cultural expressions, allowing students to express themselves in Arabic in various contexts.

This course offers an enriching experience for those who wish to combine intellectual reflection and the acquisition of language skills in an intercultural setting.
