Preparing for GCSE English Lang/

KS3/ GCSE
As the lockdown eases, it's time to think about a return to study at school. Firmly established teacher of English since 1998; my specialism is raising the grade - especially tricky 3/4 boundaries. Another strength is accommodating learners with specific learning needs - G&T, ASD, MLD, PP, ADHD, and so forth. KS2 also accommodated.
Tutoring young learners on a one to one basis is so rewarding: the learners not only gain merit certificates and recognition form their schools - but also blossom in confidence and knowledge. To complement the two decades +, other assets include experience as a GCSE examiner for OCR; a thorough understanding of AQA and WJEC AO papers.

Developing your spoken/ listening, reading, and writing skills - especially as English for Academic Purposes unlocks your potential and wellbeing. Experience of teaching in universities and specializing in Functional Skills, tutoring is planned around your needs.

Working in education has taught me a lot about people. With an MA English Lit, I have over two decades of experience across compulsory, further and higher education. Whilst I specialise in GCSE English, Functional Skills, ESOL and improving literacy skills has sustained my teaching. Coaching NQTS or tutors through to QTS, QTLS; private tuition; TEFL - these are all strengths of my education services.
From my teaching experience came the ability to coach others. Everything we believe about ourselves is developed by the interactions with others. Our beliefs, assumptions and so aspirations are all limited by a negativity from these experiences. My L5 coaching qualification vindicates my experience of helping others make SMART decisions about their own lives. My passion to help others is an abiding driver: lifestyle changes such as coming out, changing jobs, dealing with difficult people - are but a few examples I've helped with.
Personally, a second MA in fine art underpins the voluntary work I enjoy. Keeping fees to a reasonable price ensures everyone can get the support, guidance and learning they need.

Have you ever drawn with words - or write with drawing/ mark making?
In each session, we will look at techniques to develop both drawing and writing skills to produce an image/ prose to be proud of. The aim is to then use this creativity to address the demands of every day living - to find a moment of calm amidst the punishing to-do list we give ourselves.

Through creativity comes inspiration and revelation. Combining creative writing/drawing and coaching, you will explore the steps and actions needed to reach your desired goals. Following the cycle - old habits and fears are addressed, replaced and repurposed:
