About Me

I graduated as a professional musician at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in 2014. I perform a lot and I also teach guitar at home through Skype and sometimes at people's homes. I have taught in various music schools.

In 2008, after high school in Nijmegen (NSG), I went to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where I also did a 2-year Master's after the Bachelor Jazz guitar.

In the drum lessons you get lessons in the way that suits you best. There is room for everyone, for the absolute beginner to the advanced drummer, for everyone there is a nice way to get drum lessons. It does not matter how old you are, you are just welcome.

Every week you have half an hour of time * on which you are only busy with drumming.

You learn what you like, for one drummer that is playing with the same song for half an hour, the other drummer wants to learn 20 rims in 30 minutes, and so on. These lessons are for everyone who wants to develop his instrumental skills and musical knowledge: during the lessons we’ll have the opportunity not only to work on all the theoretical aspects but we’ll also put focus on the meaning of what we do and why do we do it.

The main subjects are improvisation, instrumental techniques, harmony development, music theory, how to obtain the best sound, transcriptions, music history, and of course we'll go through with any kind of request from the student.

With a conscious education, everyone can have his own musical language and his own ideas, and my job we’ll just be to make the student able to feel free and enjoy your music.

The lesson can take many shapes and forms. The main benefit of learning with a teacher, rather than from a video or a book, is that each lesson can be different and tailored to your needs!

For example, you can bring a song you're trying or want to learn (recording or sheet music/tab) and we'll work on it together. You can come with a specific problem like a part or technique you cannot get right. Maybe you are just in a place where you don't know what to do next. The content of the lessons

All styles are covered at Musiclab. Think of blues, jazz, classical, pop, rock, et cetera. These diverse genres are played on classical, western (acoustic) and electric guitar. Bass guitar can also be practiced.

Learning to read notes and tabs are an integral part of the lesson. However, improvisation can also be part of this.
