Having conducted international-level experimental and theoretical scientific research for many years (PhD University of Cambridge, National Physical Laboratory, Max-Planck Institute, KUL, and UCL) I offer tailored and adaptive tutoring in mathematics, chemistry, and physics.

My main focus is in helping those pupils in their final two years of school who are preparing for university. I also specialize in preparing students for the Belgian medical entrance exam by actually solving the problems of all the past entrance exams and providing tips and insight for rapidly homing in on the correct answers.

Hi everyone,

I am a Belgian student, currently, I'm in my first master's year at the KULeuven. I chose a master's in 'Rehabilitation sciences and physiotherapy specialization musculoskeletal disorders'. During my bachelor years, I developed a very good basic knowledge of science subjects and mathematics: I studied statistics for 3 years, molecular cell biology, chemistry, physics, biomechanics, biochemistry and anatomy.
The quality of teaching of both the University of Leuven as the high school I went to (Heilig Hartcollege Tervuren) is something I am very happy/thankful for. I would love to share the education and the knowledge I acquired by supporting and teaching you or your child/teen. I would consider it as a sort of study pathway counseling. As I already have a bachelor's degree in one of the highest-ranked universities in Europe, I have a broad knowledge of quite some subjects.

I have a lot of experience working with children and teenagers, I have been a leader in a Scout for children aged 12 to 18. I have also been a tutor for 5 years now. I love working with other people as I am a very social, empathic, and motivated person.

WAY OF TEACHING

My lessons are very interactive. The student is often challenged with questions that make him/her think about the theory and exercises. This way, he/she will thoroughly understand the teaching material.

As for the lesson itself, it is adapted according to the needs of the student. Here is a typical timeline:
1. STEP 1: I discuss with the student the goal he/she wants to achieve (preparation for an exam, etc.), the difficulties he/she is experiencing, and the course material of the lesson.
2. STEP 2: Classes take place.
3. STEP 3: I will give you/the student updates on progress.

Mathematics and science subjects can weigh heavily on your study career during secondary education. It is therefore important to perform well on this. I am a student of TEW at the KULeuven and would like to offer my services to high school students who could use some help outside of school hours. Together with my students, I look for the right study approach to fully understand the courses and I try to present the subject matter in a different way so that my students gain more insight into the subject matter. ABOUT THIS LESSON:
I offer tutoring in Python programming and mathematics for university and college students. I also support secondary school and primary school students in all scientific subjects.

I start by (if available) using your old tests to determine together with you (and possibly your parents) what specific difficulties you have. In addition, we will have a short conversation in which you can explain to me which issues you have experienced as the most difficult and would like to focus more on.

My focus is on ensuring that the student is able to find the solution independently, step by step, and I help where necessary by providing mini-tips to get to the next step together. This makes my method much more personalized than standard classroom teaching. When I notice that a student has difficulty independently coming up with the correct editing steps, I create a concise step-by-step plan tailored to that specific subject so that the student begins to see more structure in the learning material. At the same time, I ensure that the underlying theory is thoroughly understood by linking it to self-invented exercises and practical examples from the student's personal environment, which makes learning easier and more lasting.

ABOUT NICK:
I am a 22-year-old master's student in Commercial Engineering at KU Leuven. I started tutoring my sister, nephews, nieces and friends and I get a lot of satisfaction from improving and helping others when they come to me for help.

Because I have been tutoring consistently for 4 years, I have the right resources to present learning material in an understandable way and to strengthen the motivation, concentration and independent study of my students. In addition, I have a lot of experience with children and didactic teaching techniques from my tennis initiator diploma. Ranging from first to sixth secondary school, from 2 hours to 6 hours of mathematics per week and everything in between, I have guided students of all directions and levels, with a successful outcome every time.

I don't give up until I'm sure a student understands the material well enough and I see them making progress. By always appearing enthusiastic, I ensure that together we do not let the drudgery of difficult subjects get any further than the school desks.

I'm a third-year engineering student at KU Leuven with a strong background in mathematics and physics.
