When I plan an English class, I stick to the syllabus while, at the same time, incorporating my own exercises and activities to give students the opportunity to express themselves and consolidate their understanding.
I put a lot of emphasis on communication as I believe that tutoring is not just talking at the student, but rather a two-way discussion. To this end, I use activities such as debates, roleplays and simulated interviews to show students real-life, practical situations to the theory taught in class. In terms of teaching English, my objective is to make grammar and vocabulary dynamic and interesting by presenting and discussing examples of possible situations which will facilitate comprehension.
