I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher. Trusted teacher: Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁 I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,... After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw! Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc. Book a lesson and try! Emidio is a fantastic saxophone teacher. He provides you with the feedback you need to learn many things at the same time: He gives you tips for a good embouchure and shows you how to blow a proper tone. He teaches you how to play in tune and introduces you to tone articulation on the saxophone, when you are ready for it. He guides your own practice efficiently, so you can be certain to not loose time. In addition, you learn to read notes and a lot about music in general. Emidio is a kind, patient, supportive and encouraging saxophone teacher, who is ready to reply to whatever question you throw at him. Emidio communicates well and is clear. I started learning the cello with absolutely no background in music, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. From the very beginning, Miriam made the process feel approachable and enjoyable. What stands out the most is her ability to adapt her teaching, she always finds a different way to explain something until it truly clicks. You can feel that her approach is shaped by years of experience and by everything she has learned from other musicians, but what makes the difference is how she passes that knowledge on.
