Whether you go to an International School or to a University with English as the language of instruction, my goal is to help kids, teenagers, and adults deal with Newtonian Physics effectively. During my Mechanical Engineering Major, I worked as a Teaching Assitant for Physics I (Mechanics) and Physics II (Electricity and Magnetism). In addition, I took higher-level courses regarding mechanics, which created a very solid foundation regarding this area, as well as the capacity to convey information on these challenging subjects. With Physics it is paramount to understand what is happening, and at times we all need extra help to see why something behaves in a certain way. I will try to help you see this, and then provide you with plenty of exercises to ensure that once you take a look at your exam, you do not even have to think of what to do, you just do it.
When I first took the TOEFL (six years ago), I knew enough English to watch a movie without subtitles andg get most of what was happening and to engage in very simple small talk. I got 108 that time. A prep course I did for the TOEFL taught me that this exam is more about knowing the exam than about the English itself. The predictability of these standardized tests is your biggest weapon. After having moved to the US and having lived there for four years, I can safely say that my level of English is exponentially better than it was when I took the TOEFL. The classes would basically consist of non-stop practice of the different test sections. The goal is for you to show up on the exam date knowing everything that is coming and having the confidence that you can answer it.
Whether you go to an International School or to a University with English as the language of instruction, my goal is to help kids, teenagers, and adults deal with Math effectively. During my Mechanical Engineering Major, I worked as a Teaching Assitant for Calculus and Matrix Algebra. For this position, I served as a part-time lecturer, mainly focused on solving practice problems. I think this experience created a very solid mathematical foundation, as well as the capacity to convey information on these challenging subjects. I believe that the only way to get good at Math is through constant practice. I will provide you with plenty of exercises to ensure that once you take a look at your exam, you do not even have to think of what to do, you just do it.
Besides having grown and lived for twenty years in a Spanish-speaking country, I studied three years of mechanical engineering at Simón Bolívar University. In this institution, I not only obtained perfect notes in the eight preparatory courses of mathematics I attended, but also worked as an academic trainer for the Department of Mathematics. These experiences not only created in me an ideal basis for this subject, but also prepared me to teach effective classes to adolescents and adults. My goal is to help you prepare the best for your evaluations. For whatever reason, If you want to learn or improve your knowledge of mathematics in Spanish, I will help you. The key will be the practice, it is the only way to excellence. After enough practice exercises, you will not even need to think before answering the question on your exam.
I worked as a private tutor for over a year in the United States helping teenagers and young adults with their preparation for the GRE. During this time I came up with strategies and tricks that I believe can significantly facilitate the way you approach this exam, after all, you must keep in mind that this test is not measuring your knowledge or intelligence per se. It is rather measuring your ability to prepare for this particular exam. Being a Mechanical Engineering Major with an English Minor and an experienced tutor, I believe to have the qualifications to help you with both the Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections. Be prepared to practice and memorize words, tell me what you want to work on and let's give it a go
