About Me

I am an experienced teacher now working in the University, I am offering my services on Apprentus cause I like to keep up with individual or small group lessons cause it offers a different relation with the students and an engaging activity trying to define every time how to deliver a great result for students with very different needs.
I use a variety of materials, many of them prepared for foreign students, others adapted from authentic Italian texts, in order to provide an up to date knowledge of the language used in the country or in a specific business.
I am a grammar lover but I do understand the necessity of providing students with communicative tools and not only hours of exercise on books. Every lesson can be tailored on your needs and likes, from music to art, travels or professional interests, you do really just have to try!

I am completing my PhD while working as University's Lecturer. I am specialized in teaching methodologies and communication. I am the director of the Italian language center of my faculty and almost a decade of experience in the field of teaching.

As an Italian Opera singer, I help since many years singers with the right pronunciation of the repertoire they sing, helping them in shaping the language in a clear way, which also helps the singing.

Our lesson will involve speaking, pronunciation exercises and singing.
We will start the lesson by reading the text and finding the right direction and emphasis.
We will focus on the sounds and how to produce them.
In the second part of the lesson, we will apply all of the above to the singing!

I teach for all levels, from very beginners to advanced speakers, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I can also help with university exams and school works/assignments.
Being a pianist and a piano teacher, I already have lots of experience with teaching and pedagogical approach with the whole range of ages.

The lesson is intended to meet the student needs: the focus can be on the grammar, conversation or literature. In case of a middle-level speaker, the lesson will cover all four language's abilities: listening, speaking, writing and reading. My suggestion of a well planned lesson is, for any level, to divide it into two parts: grammar first and then conversation (covering all the abilities mentioned above).

If you wish to brush up your Italian, resume a past series of lessons, or simply start from scratch learning Italian, this is the right lesson for you! I like to personalize each class/course according to the needs and goals of my students. My classes are focused on improving the student's communication skills. At beginner and lower intermediate levels, I prefer using a text book/ student book in the first part of the class. I usually use "Nuovissimo Progetto Italiano" and "Arrivederci" by Edilingua, or "Nuovo Espresso" and "Dieci" by Alma Publishing. For the second part of the lesson, I create engaging contents using original videos, press articles, extracts from blogs and social media, literary texts. If the students do not feel comfortable using Italian from scratch, I can switch to English, German, or Dutch. The course fee includes the correction of home assignments.
