Hello everyone.
My name is Maria and I love playing and teaching cello.
The nice, emotional, and depth sound of the cello attracted my interest from the age
of four and I decided from this young age to start learning how to play this beautiful
instrument. As the years were passing by I was getting more and more impressed
from the glory of music and of the cello. So my love and my passion became a
profession.
I am from Greece and I lived in the Netherlands for the last five years.
I finished my Bachelor studies in cello performance at The Royal Conservatory of The
Hague and I obtained a certificate in Music Education.
Now I am continuing my master studies at Conservatorium Maastricht and I work in
parallel as a freelance cellist and cello teacher.
Teaching is my passion. In the last 5 years, I teach regularly. Beginners, elder amateur
cellist, advanced teenagers, and kids of all ages are some of my students.
I have plenty of patience, and I am able to adapt my system to the needs and
capacities of each student. As a teacher, I focuse on developing the cello technique
and the musicality of my students. Basic music theory, rhythm, and ear training are
part of her lessons too. The focus of my teaching is to make my student love the
process of learning music and cello.
Playing music is fun, is unique is joyful.

Maria is a passionate cello and music teacher. She obtains a bachelor degree and a Certificate in Music education form the Royal Conservatory of the Hague and she has already five years experience in teaching.
She loves to teach students from every level and every age.
Beginners, elder amateur cellist, advanced teenagers and kids of all ages are some of her students.
Her patient, caring and kind personality, her ability to adopt her system in the needs and capacities of each student her musicality and her musical knowledge make her an effective teacher.
She is teaching privately and in groups.
As a teacher she focuses on developing the cello technique and the musicality of her students. Basic music theory, rhythm and ear training are part of her lessons too.

Dear music lovers,

I'm a professional violin and viola player who teaches students of all ages and levels.
During my musical education I had the opportunity to study in different conservatories in Spain, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland, awakening in me a passion for teaching the violin and viola and thus beginning to give private lessons and coaching youth orchestras.

In my lessons I help the student to feel enjoyment while playing, and feel happy with their instrument in order to connect with their musical imagination.
Considering the level and age, different methods and exercises will structure the lesson in order to get good aural skills, sense of rhythm and an optimal body posture.

Not only interested in classical music?
The stable technical base you will reach during the lessons will give you the tools to feel free and comfortable playing in other styles with your instrument.

You're in good hands! As a professional cellist for 14 years now, including as a member of major European and Australian opera and philharmonic orchestras, I welcome all students, from those picking up the instrument for the first time to those preparing for professional auditions.

My primary aim in teaching is to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect in which students can draw motivation to set and accomplish their goals, with my full commitment towards helping them achieve those. Getting the foundations of good playing and good musicianship right is of course a very close and no less important second!

During their journey, students can count on my patience, understanding and sympathy to help them through all challenges. I tailor my teaching style to fit all students based on their individual needs and wishes, or those of their parents if they're too young to decide for themselves.

I'm determined to break the stereotype of teachers being failed performers and teach not only by demonstration, but by playing with students as an accompanist or duet partner, even with absolute beginners.
