📚 What Students Will Learn: In this interdisciplinary course, students will gain a foundational and critical understanding of how individuals think, behave, and relate to one another within cultural and societal frameworks. Drawing on four core disciplines—Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, and Psychology—this course encourages students to explore the complexities of human identity, interaction, and social structure. By the end of the course, students will understand Core Concepts and Theories of any one of the subjects they have chosen to understand and learn: Learn key ideas from gender theory (e.g., gender performativity, intersectionality) Explore sociological perspectives on class, race, norms, and deviance Study anthropological approaches to culture, rituals, kinship, and belief systems Examine psychological theories of behavior, emotion, personality, and cognition
