Contemporary Music Theory for Beginners: A beginners guide to music theory

This course is an introduction to contemporary music theory. It covers music theory from a practical approach, aiming to provide contemporary musicians with the necessary theory knowledge to communicate effectively within an ensemble situation, as well as develop their individual skills as music practitioners. Each class focuses on a particular element of music theory. After the initial explanation, practical application is explored, giving the students the opportunity to test their knowledge, and clear any doubts.

I specialise in teaching guitar for all levels. Beginners are very welcome. My main aim is to get the students to enjoy playing and from there we can start to get deeper into theory, composition, improvisation and song writing. I also specialise in Brazilian guitar if that is anyone's passion.

My name is Pouneh. I'm a guitarist, film composer, and music teacher :)
I graduated with a Master's and a bachelor's degree in "Classical Guitar Performance" and "Music Composition".
I have been teaching music for more than twenty years.
I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals and try to make the learning experience as fun and enjoyable as possible.
I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Performing classical Guitar from the University of Tehran and also I earned a Master's degree in Composition for Film and Media from Pulse College Dublin.

Teaching Style:
In this experience, students will learn everything about classical guitar playing with me.
I'm energetic. So, I promise to offer a great earning experience for adults as well as children.

My class is for anyone interested in music as a tool for life. The focus is to learn how to play an instrument and also cultivate mindfulness habits. I have taught with my own method for 20 years to hundreds of students from all walks of life.

We start our session with a short mindfulness exercise and then you'll learn how to play your chosen instrument through your favourite songs. If you're interested we can also then start to learn how to write songs and even record them!
