I love passing on the knowledge of my craft. The mechanics of the voice is such a small and intricate thing, and knowing what goes inside our throat and body is a very special experience. I get excited and moved every time a student achieves a new skill, and takes another step towards a deeper understanding of their voice.
On top of my experience as a singer and a teacher, I have a degree in linguistics. That allows me to know exactly what has to be done inside your throat and mouth in order to produce a specific sound. I can therefore adapt to each student: if they have an analytic mind, I can explain what goes on inside and what should be done to improve that. If they have an instinctive mind, I can help with metaphor in order to help the phonation. Or both! My method is multi-faceted because each voice is unique, and it is my job to adapt, and not the contrary.

How does a lesson work?
The first time we meet, we will talk about your journey in the music world. What have you done yet music wise, what artists and genres inspire you, what are your goals. Then we will do what we do in every regular lesson: I will direct you during some warming-up exercises, that include vocal technique work (if you have already warmed up, we just do a few exercises about technique), and then we will work on whatever you want. I ask my students to always come with at least one piece of music they want to work on (or maybe two, depends on the time we have on hands).

Salut!

Je suis une chanteuse d'opéra française et je me suis produite régulièrement et fréquemment en tant que soliste en France, en Italie, en Suisse, en Belgique et au Royaume-Uni. J'ai une expérience en matière d'interprétation, de gestion du stress et de technique vocale que je souhaite partager.

J'ai coaché des dizaines d'étudiants et j'ai accumulé depuis que j'enseigne une vaste expérience en rencontrant un large éventail de personnalités et de besoins individuels différents. Nous apportons tous avec nous toute notre histoire et chaque étudiant est aussi pour moi une nouvelle opportunité d'apprendre à porter mes standards d'enseignement à un niveau supérieur.
Je suis titulaire d'un Master de chant classique, d'une Licence de chant classique et d'une Licence de linguistique, ce qui me rend compétente sur de multiples niveaux (artistique, mais aussi mécanique pure de la phonation) pour transmettre mon savoir.

Hi there!
My name is Kristina and I come from a Czech/British background. I currently study my master at The Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, as well as having completed my Bachelor of singing in The Hague.

In the class vocal lessons, I want to give you a basis of a classical vocal technique and explore the world of singing. We would be working on our body - how it works, breath, exercises, on our musicality (intonation, phrasing, expression), on the text, but also on a lot on repertoire, which suits your voice(:

Pre-mutation children - we will work more on folk songs and developing your musicality
15 + we will focus more on the body, repertoire, and on all the musical aspects of singing

I give private classical singing lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced professional singers. Both, in person or online is possible. In my lessons, you will learn the belcanto technique, which I studied for many years myself. I am a professional soprano, singing in opera theaters and concerthalls around the world. I will teach or coach you in vocal technique, languages and style. I do have a lot of experience in teaching young professionals and passionate amateurs.
