Do you like music? Are you thinking about playing the flute? Or are you already a flute player and you wish to become advanced? Do you need someone to help you to prepare for music exams? I am offering lessons in playing the traverse modern flute as well as historical flutes and music theory at any level, from the beginner to the professional.
This course, based on more than 10 years of experience in teaching, offers private lessons where everyone can find their unique contact with their instrument, deepen their relationship with music and develop a unique way of expressing themselves through music making.
I teach from international method books and adjust my methods to the individual needs of each student. Taking two courses of the Alexander technique also helped me to develop an understanding of the essential connection between the body and our minds. This awareness can be very helpful not only for our musical performances, but also for our everyday lives. I believe that my already 10 years of teaching practice has shaped my teaching into a stage where everyone can learn what they need.

If you are a beginner, you don't need to bring anything for the first lesson with me. I will let you try and play my instrument. Only then we would discuss your options for buying your instrument. (If you have already bought your instrument, then of course, bring it with you.)

Since I was 10 years old, I knew that I wanted to become a professional musician. Music was my passion and my first music teacher was the one responsible for that. She was the first one to show me how much joy music brings into our lives. And she was the one who always supported me and helped me on my musical path. She was the one who showed me that feeling joy in playing music is much more than just to play perfectly, and no one ever was able to convince me about the opposite. Therefore, my greatest wish ever since was to be able to pass this joy of music on, to my students. When I play the flute, I feel freedom. It is my safe world, full of creativity, dreams and story-telling...

During my professional life as a musician and a flute teacher, I learned that enthusiasm is the most important thing in all creative disciplines, in all arts, and we need to cultivate it and treasure it. In my teaching methods, I always want to provide an individual approach to each student and enough support for them to be able to develop their unique relationship with music and with their flute.

Alongside playing music with orchestras and teaching, I have been enthusiastic about chamber music. I have co-founded three ensembles, currently based in The Hague, specialising in historical performance.

Besides music, I am a professional barista - good quality coffee and chocolate are my joy, too, and I love baking cakes and cookies. :-)

I have an understanding for fun, too. I was a leader of summer camps for children for more than 10 years which helped me vastly to develop my communicative skills with children and understanding for their individuals needs.

I am a French historical and modern horn player based in The Hague. I have played the Horn since I was 4 years old and I have two Master's degrees in modern horn and natural horn. I offer you lessons on modern and historical instruments, as well as music theory.

I work with all ages, all levels, and all objectives, and I can even work with other brass. If you want to discover the instrument or perfect it, if you need theory support or practice help, I will adapt my methods to your needs to offer you quality musical time!

I have taught children and adults since 2017, and I truly love leading people their way to enjoyable, musical, and informed brass playing.

My lessons include warmups, technique, working on pieces of various repertoire, playing in duo with me, and more. For music theory, I like to come up with playful exercises of my own according to the student's needs and level.

I started playing the piano when I was 8 years old. By that time I already could feel I would become a professional musician and teacher. I got my first bachelor in piano in 2007. When I was 13 years old, I started having harpsichord lessons and expanding my knowledge of classical and early music. In 2012 I got my bachelor degree in harpsichord and in 2014 my master degree at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague. Currently, I’m working with my ensemble, teaching piano and harpsichord, and am now doing my Ph.D. in Performative Arts at Leiden University

I absolutely love to teach and pass my experience as a musician to my students on both instruments. I like to see them improving and have fun while playing.
I work with several ways of teaching, depending on the student level and music background.

Normally I work with piano methods with kids from 9 -12 years old. I can teach music theory if necessary and if it will improve the student’s needs to progress and reach their goals, I do that with pleasure. Harmony and a bit of keyboard improvisation are also very welcome to the class.

My specialty is classical music, more specifically, baroque music, although I have notions of pop, jazz, and improvisation. Because I have sporting and personal training backgrounds, I’m specialized also on correcting postures and eventually avoid or solve pain issues when regarding playing.

I started with recorder when I was 6 years old and later with the oboe.
I came to the Netherlands in 1999 to study baroque oboe and got my Master of Music degree in 2005.
Since 1997 I have given private lessons (both for oboe and recorder) and am an oboe teacher with the Leer Orkest Amsterdam. I have a lot of experience with children and adult students.
In addition to my activities as a teacher I am also very active as a performing musician

My name is Carla Peña and I come from Barcelona. Since I was a child, music has played an important role in my life. I started learning music when I was 4 years old and cello when at the age of 6. I discovered my love for music and that is what I share with my students.
I have around 15 pupils of all levels and ages and I teach at my own studio (De Constant Rebecquestraat 3) or at your place!
If you are in The Hague area and you want to learn the cello or improve your playing, you are welcome to do lessons with me!

FIRST LESSON:
The first lesson consists of getting to know each other. This is essential to choose the best teaching approach. All the students are unique, that is why I always choose the method that adapts better to your needs. Then, we elaborate a personal plan, depending on your level, expectations, practice time, and taste.

TECHNIQUE:
Learning the proper technique of the instrument is very important to avoid injuries and to be able to express ourselves and perform our musical ideas in a successful way. That is why we learn nice songs in different styles, depending on your taste (from classical to jazz, film music, pop, etc.) and we combine it with cello method books with progressive exercises to improve the cello knowledge.
In the case of young beginners, we also play cello games during the lesson to make the learning experience dynamic and fun! Children can lose attention and get bored very quickly!

Playing together is an essential part of enjoying music. Therefore, the last part of the lesson always consists of playing cello duets and having fun!

ABOUT ME:

I studied my Bachelor in Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, with professor Amparo Lacruz. Then, I decided to continue my studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the class of Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota.
During my studies in The Hague, I did a teaching internship at the Royal Conservatory as a part of their Minor in Music Education. I also taught in several Music Schools during my studies in Spain.
Currently, I teach private students in The Hague and I created a cultural center in The Hague called Pandora Studio.
I play regularly in two chamber music ensembles: Trio Jakob and Azalaïs Quartet.

I was under the tutelage of the great violin pedagogue Mr. Mauricio Fuks at Indiana University (USA) for 3 consecutive years (2018-2021) becoming his teaching assistant for 3 years (2018-2021). Moreover, I have taught young violinists in Elementary Schools, (e.g. Fairview Elementary School) and also collegiate students in the Jacobs School of Music (US). In Spain, I have teaching experience in several music schools instructing violinists ranging from 3 to 70 years of age. I have also worked with ADHD and autistic students with a great passion for violin playing and music-making.

I hold a master's in Violin Performance at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and in Psychology and Music (UNED). I have an excellent command of English, and Dutch and a good working knowledge of French. I base my teaching method on Suzuki and Galamian methods, which I combine with a wide repertoire of progressive violin pieces.

Piano is surely amongst the most interesting instrument in the world for a simple reason: compared to the other instruments that are usually limited to one voice, piano uses the ten fingers at the same time, giving hundreds of possibilities of different voicings and harmony.

I am a French student studying in the Hague. My passion has always been piano. I did 9 years in a French music academy where I finished the entire curriculum. I have been teaching piano to 4 students the two last years in London and I am willing to continue transmitting my passion now that I am in the Hague.

I teach piano to people of all age, without omitting to mention a little bit of music theory so that students get a clear understanding of the instrument they are playing. All this in a fun way! For example, understanding and analyzing how modern tubes and hit songs are made is a fun way to learn music without necessarily using a more conventional method. My students can play whatever music they want, from classical pieces, to jazz themes, all the way to modern tic-toc songs, I always let them play what they want. The most important is to enjoy, this is the really key to progress.

An accessible instrument and a chameleon, the recorder opens the doors to all styles: classical music and particularly early music, but also traditional music (French, Irish...), jazz, contemporary...
It is learned young, even very young, or later, when the desire takes you and curiosity torments you! A particularly sociable instrument, it likes to play with the family, with other flutes, to integrate into various ensembles, or even to accompany itself on a keyboard... But what could be purer and more touching than the sound of a single recorder that resonates in beautiful acoustics?
As you will have understood, I am passionate about it, and, with a Master's degree in hand, I offer recorder lessons that are suitable for everyone. The basics of music theory are not necessary because I can integrate them into my lessons. My name is Lucía, I have studied my bachelor of classical flute in Granade (Spain) and now I am studying a Master in The Hague.
In my classes I apply different
pedagogical methods such as Dalcroze, integrating movement to help children internalize rhythm
from an early age; Kodály, emphasizing the voice as a fundamental tool in instrumental learning;
and Suzuki, adapting each lesson to the child’s age. Although I have studied these pedagogical
theories, I have found that every student is unique, which has led me to research and combine
different resources in order to find the most effective way to communicate and transmit musical
concepts. Since 2021, I have worked both in music schools and in students’ homes, teaching flute,
music theory, and harmony.
